The Art of Eldar Zakirov - Regal Felines

(Via)
Hello once again friends!  I was lulled out of my blogging slumber (aka full-time work and school) by something that I just couldn't pass up: the regal feline portraits courtesy of Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction graduate Eldar Zakirov. The cute factor is there by kitty default, but these exceptional portraits aren't your typically brimming to the top sugary-cuteness, but something much more subtle, and classic. Check out more of his fine portraits after the break!

A Gathering Of Cats

A rather accurate depiction of how cats probably think and scheme, A Gathering Of Cats by director Makoto Shinkai is a fun one minute short featuring a cat that gets his tail stepped on one too many times. Taken from Ani-Kuri 15 which aired on Japan's NHK station (2007-2008), the idea behind the 'show' was novel, featuring fifteen one minute shorts directed by various studios and animators.

Lil Bub's Magical Yule Log

With the chilly weather and Christmas drawing ever nearer, a lot of us are left craving the physical and emotional warmth associated with fireplaces, which we aren't all that lucky to own. Turns out that in my house the previous owners decided to seal off the fireplace, which still baffles me to no end. However fear not, as a rather awesome, hour long digital alternative (One of many) starring the e-famous Li'l Bub purring away happily will provide you with a pretty decent alternative to the real thing. Happy holidays and all.

Midnight Juggernauts - "Systematic"

One of my favorite Aussie alt rockers just released their incredibly trippy music video for Systematic, featuring oh so many birds, cats and surreal amalgams of both presented in glorious black and white. The track is taken from Midnight Juggernauts' latest 2013 album titled 'Uncanny Valley' which you can nab in a CD or record format from the Record Makers store. Enjoy the feline rain.

Dreams Are Real

Time travel. Space Exploration. Violence. Drama. Love. Cats. Dreams. Need we say more? This cosmic cat journey was created by Ryan Barger and Katie Akan, and all we can say is that there are no words to describe this opus to the incredible creatures known as cats. When this video is pulled from an ancient hard drive from the debris of our long lost race centuries from now, they will know what these cats accomplished. They will know.

The Last Cat on Earth

Cats will always be ass holes in my book, but this newest Freddie W short/music video does a pretty good job at convincing me that dogs are even bigger jerks. In a purely fictitious world, I suppose dogs can be ass holes too, especially when they're hunting for the last cat on earth. If a battle of this magnitude were to ever occur, I'm not sure which side I'd choose, because the internet fame that correlates with cats is generally much higher than that of dogs but dogs are way cuter (sorry, but it's true).

Basically, what I'm getting at is dogs are better than cats unless you're on the internet and this video is awesome.

Catzilla

From the devious minds of Platige Image, the same guys who brought us the gritty dogfighting pseudo-anime Paths Of Hate comes this dubstep tinged vision of the apocalypse, featuring two very pissed off kitties. The short was actually created as an antithesis to the typical downloadable computer benchmark (Created to gauge how powerful your PC is under strain), which are typically more on the boring side and lacking any sort of narrative. If you're interested in seeing how much laser cats your computer can handle, you can get Catzilla over on the Allbenchmark website.

Smack My B**ch Up - Cat Style

While I initially thought this was going to be yet another one of those GoPro on a cat videos with a strange choice of soundtrack, I was absolutely mistaken. This clever parody shows what truly happens when those cats venture out of home, and is actually based off of the actual 2007 Prodigy music video that MTV banned (NSFW) on the grounds of it being too offensive. Considering that the track was released in 1997 as part of their famous Fat Of The Land album, I find it nothing short of hilarious that the track finally got the music video it deserved fifteen years after the fact.

Your Cat Probably Has A Drug Problem

There's absolutely no way I can deny my (and most of Awesome Robo's) love for The Midnight Show. Everything the group puts out is gold in my eyes, upping the game of comedy with each new video. Their newest sketch takes a look into the horrible truth behind your cat's probable drug problems, and when I say probable, I mean most definite. Seriously, get that sh*t checked out.

Art of Claire Wendling

(Via)
Just recently, I came across the work of French artist Claire Wendling. I was blown away by her expertise, especially her clean, flowing lines. She has a real knack for animals, with cats being a favorite of hers. Her style is similar in all of her work, yet somehow there's still lots of variety to keep the viewer interested and hungry for more. Check out some of her other work after the jump, and don't forget to go over to her website!

Apocalypse Miau : The 80's-liscious Kittehs

More than likely, it's probably towards the end of your school or work day. It's Friday, and time to unwind with some drinks. Or other relaxing substances. Get yourself situated as such, then please sit down and watch this. It will really enhance the experience of this retro-futuristic clip with mind blowing graphics and tons of glorious kitties. Enjoy the weekend!

Doctor Who And The Cozy Cat House

TARDIS is PURRFECT (Via)
Whilst the new series plays a game of Cat & Mouse with the Doctor and his inevitable death, how about a look at the lighter side of the show, like fan creations?

This is a half-sized TARDIS replica created by Astromark, from Tardis Builders. The inside contains a wonderful cat play area and the outside is a fantastic TARDIS replica that would make a great conversation point. Is it bigger on the inside? Only one way to find out, and it's after the jump.

L'Homme Chat : The Cat Man Of Cannes

Paul Trillo shot this wonderful little portrait of Bela Ardrei, a street performer with a true appreciation of the joy he brings others with his little cat performances. The documentary rounds him out by showing him dealing with a wide variety of situations, from his arrival to his 'show area' to performing, to dealing with people who think he drugs his cats to keep them calm. The presentation and editing is also simply top notch in this mini slice of life documentary.

Drunk YouTube Searching Brings Poptart Cats

A few days ago I divulged myself into drunk YouTube-ing, only to wake up to find this video sitting in my favorites. To be honest, I can't stand loops like this, but something tells me my drunk self loves them. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS, yet I can't stop watching it. My drunken state must of engrained this video into my mind as something I enjoy, because I think I might like this video now.

Zombie Catpocalypse

An oldie but a goldie.  Let the zombie kitten horde overrun it all. ^-.-^
