The Last Cat on Earth

Cats will always be ass holes in my book, but this newest Freddie W short/music video does a pretty good job at convincing me that dogs are even bigger jerks. In a purely fictitious world, I suppose dogs can be ass holes too, especially when they're hunting for the last cat on earth. If a battle of this magnitude were to ever occur, I'm not sure which side I'd choose, because the internet fame that correlates with cats is generally much higher than that of dogs but dogs are way cuter (sorry, but it's true).

Basically, what I'm getting at is dogs are better than cats unless you're on the internet and this video is awesome.

The Cloudy Dog

This lovely animated short is a small homage to our furry canine friends. Nope, no story or plot here. Just an adorable sketch-like animation throwing us into the world of pups, highlighting their playfulness, loyalty, and best of all: The cuddle factor! And it's also a small reminder that our buddies are not around forever.  If this doesn't make you want to go hug your dog, then you're a heartless bastard I don't know what will.

Oh Look, It's A Corgi In A Bucket!

It's Friday, we're all tired.  Somehow I expect a lot of us will also end up in a bucket (or shot glass).  But sadly, we will not all look quite as precious as this little guy.  Dare to dream, though.

K9 Paratroopers

I just recently discovered that quite a few armies worldwide airdrop K9 units strapped to their handlers in various divisions (Anywhere from the SAS to Special Forces) of airdrop units. The dogs have oxygen masks strapped to them and are trained to drop from anywhere up to 25,000 feet, which would be considered a High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump. The dogs can also be outfitted with titanium grills to rip through armor, infrared cameras, ear pieces so their handlers can give them commands and body armor to list a few features. 5 more images of these Para-K9's after the jump!

Dogboarding

Aside from barking at every mere hint of an backyard intruder (i.e. friendly squirrels and various birds) and giving me a reason to vacuum the carpet regularly, my dog isn't that versatile around the house. That's not to say I don't love my dog, she's the apple of my eye, but there are times when I'm taking her out for a walk when I just yearn for something more. Turns out, Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert share my plight, and they've invented Dogboarding.

If you're a student of viral video culture, this is a prime example. Featuring adorable pups, slick visuals, goofy special effects and a hip soundtrack, it's a love letter to skateboarding and canine enthusiasts like myself.
