"Dark Souls II - Rogue Warrior" Is Pretty Damn Clever

Youtube animator Veselekov just recently uploaded this awesome little parody of Dark Souls, poking fun at the butchering of many IP's back in the 80's and 90's in order to create cash grab/merchandising vehicle cartoon tie ins for various companies. Shows like Captain N: The Game Master for Nintendo, the hilarious Capcom endorsed Street Fighter: The Adventure Begins and Darkstalkers come to mind, which butchered or straight out disregarded the source material so badly that it was kind of hilarious.

This particular take on Dark Souls features guns, cyborg eyes and plenty of VHS tinged visual goodness. It nearly feels like the illegitimate half child of Farcry 3: Blood Dragon, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Selfie

Animated by Andy Martin, Selfie is a fun little 60 second warning about self obsession. If you're into this type of random format, you'll also enjoy Titmouse's absolutely insane Dogsnack series. Selfie is part of the Pictoplasma Character Selfie project, which invites artists from all around the world to submit art based on the phenomena. There's a few hundred submissions already on their official Tumblr.

Everything But The News - A Report From Youtube's Vidcon

This was pretty amusing. PBS representative Jim Lehrer took a long, hard look at the world of Youtube entertainment through some seriously virgin eyes at the Vidcon expo, mainly centered around vloggers and personalities from Google's highly produced channels. Upon discovering a world of self absorbed folks with views in the tens of millions, Lehrer must ultimately make a tough choice: Become part of the jump cut, fast talking, low attention span grabbing crowd. For a PBS produced video, there's a lot of meta humor and self deprecation which makes it a pretty charming, old meets new piece.

Power Rangers And Old Man

While ADHD (Animation Domination) is hit and miss at best with their very meme/nostalgia-centric animation parodies, every once in a while they manage to get a chuckle out of us. This classic Power Rangers parody pretty much nails it on the head, with the exception of the addition of a rather unwarranted member to the classic cast.

NYC Gentleman

South Korean college student Wonsuk Choi and his friend/freelancer DeeKay Voltroned into the 'Deewon' collective and collaborated to turn some rather standard footage of a trip to New York City into something more memorable, and they ultimately came up with NYC Gentleman, featuring PSY's latest track and a bizarre range of famous (And completely unknown) cartoon and videogame characters turning the streets into a dance party. Awesome exercise in compositing.

Their ultimate goal? As they put it: Our main goal is just to have pure fun with whatever the heck we are making. And we had a blast making this. I hope you guys enjoy it too!

Dreams Are Real

Time travel. Space Exploration. Violence. Drama. Love. Cats. Dreams. Need we say more? This cosmic cat journey was created by Ryan Barger and Katie Akan, and all we can say is that there are no words to describe this opus to the incredible creatures known as cats. When this video is pulled from an ancient hard drive from the debris of our long lost race centuries from now, they will know what these cats accomplished. They will know.

Stuff & Things

Jack Cunningham and Joe Bichard directed this wonderfully pixelated short about nothing, a series of random scenes laced together by a common visual style. The experience of watching this was equatable to changing channels, if the world we existed in was 16bit.

Lamento

I was mesmerized by Joshua Clamento's amazing visualizations of John Talabot's track by the same name. Its a spellbinding piece, a journey through abstract shapes, violent, chaotic randomness and mellow tunes, concluding in nothingness. Pretty incredible.

Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper and "Weird Al" Yankovic: The Beatles 2

You can't make this up. In a way that only some bad joke punchline can fathom, Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper and "Weird Al" Yankovic were all at a New Years party this year t in Hawaii, at the same time. They proceeded to go onto the stage and create a makeshift band, covering The Beatles' "Come Together". Weird Al is known for making appearances onstage, but together with two of the biggest rock stars in the universe? Heck, the 22 year old me wishes he was in that crowd.

Tiny Legs Of Fire

What happens when you want to practice Aftereffects work and have nothing but random crap on your hard drive to work with? You get Tiny Legs Of Fire, a collection of little bite sized pieces of random goodness. It's a tragedy that Adult Swim never found this man, as he would fit quite perfectly in their stable of abstract ident creators.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Noses: Can't Unsee It

Some guy out there must have been sitting there, admiring a magazine cover one day before getting his divine inspiration that led to the creation of this new meme. I kind of predict that I'll be partaking in defacing famous noses with sharpies in order to make sure that one of the four turtles gets represented. You'll never look at a nose the same way, and the concept even spawned an amazing new gimmick Tumblr: Teenage Mutant Ninja Noses. Check out a few more Ninja noses after the break!

Be A Manwolf Today

Well, that was interesting...and awesome. Manwolf's are a skating outfit with a little more personality than your usual, DC and Monster Energy toting skaters of recent times. And hey, I can appreciate the hell out of these guys..They've got a ton of personality, their own style and really just don't give a sh** about what other people think. Can't go wrong with that, they're having a good time doing it.

Out For A Walk

Its been pretty nice out lately, so this image of Darth Vader walking his pet miniature AT AT seemed pretty damn fitting. June was great, and we're looking forward to an even better July. Enjoy your Saturday, guys.

Foo Fighters Played At My House

This just gets the Foo Fighters that many more points in my book. They held an old school 'we'll play at your house' style competition and a pizza delivery guy won.  The only place he had for them to play at was his garage, and unlike other artists who would scoff at such a thing, the Foo Fighters agreed and put their all and more into it.  Its kind of surreal, and kind of awesome.  They rock out hard, no matter where the venue.

Wolf+Lamb VS Soul Clap: Lonely C

I'm kind of lost for words about this music video. Its so strange, humorous, unfamiliar and disturbing. The sound is completely unique, but the music video tells a somewhat bizarre story of two twins who start to notice they have some mutual incestuous feelings as they grow up. I loved it for how unapologetically strange it was. What do you guys think?

Dance Assassin

I applaud this guy for taking the average scare prank to the next level by adding a second layer of wtf, in the form of dance pranking.

Dog Brow Fortuna

This video is a piece about pain, tragedy, and fake dog eyebrows set to a beautiful orchestral score at the 15 second mark.  You will experience a wide range of emotions while watching this touching video.

A Message About Richard Gere

Somebody's a fan of a certain washed up actor.  The situation isn't random at all.

Lamb Riding Motorcycle

Just a lamb riding a motorcycle.  Whats new?  Carry on, nothing to see here.
