Pigeon Staple - Summer 2013

The rather strangely titled entry from directors Michael Lawrence & Bryan Schlam is a wonderful taste of summer created as a minor promo for the apparel company known as Staple Pigeon, founded by New York's very own Jeff Staple back in 1997. The company is well known for it's awesome promo videos for it's collection, and this summer preview is no different, featuring a series of models losing their grip on gravity set to the ridiculously summery tunes of Ernest Greene's Washed Out, whom we featured recently for It All Feels Right.

Swelter

An animated short in time for the upcoming summer heat, something for us at the Austin, TX-based Awesome-Robo HQ to look forward to. In an essentially abandoned town, a man and child take a little bit of water from a fire hydrant. An ominous hooded figure approaches. The child, in his determination for hydration, gets a little ballsy. The character design is an interesting simplistic-yet-stylized hybrid, with the many shades of orange driving the idea of unbearable heat home.

My Family and the Wolf - Teaser Trailer

With summer just around the corner, this looks like it could be an awesomely fun summertime animation. This European animation, made together by Headless Productions (Barcelona based) and Nectarious Films (Paris based), is about a young boy's summer vacation, and all of the wonderful things he did. This is a teaser trailer, so not much is given away, so all we know is that at some point, his grandmother tells him a story about a wolf. How that wolf will play into the story, I don't know. We'll be on the lookout for a full trailer! All I can say at this point, is that it looks like a fun story, and the simplistic animation is beautiful.

I May Have Just Started Long Boarding, But This Looks Like The Perfect Summer Day

In Seattle, Summer has just started, which means times for me to go outside and do sh*t. Unfortunately, Summer here means "here's two nice days just barely over 70° (that's 21° Celsius) and a week of rain". While I wait for the next batch of sunny days the internet has been king enough to grace me with the video above, reminding me how amazing Summer is everywhere else. I just recently picked up long boarding and it's fantastic, but something like this would be even better. The event organized above takes place nearby Madrid and is filled to the brim with good music and good times.

Dammit, I want to be there.

Out For A Walk

Its been pretty nice out lately, so this image of Darth Vader walking his pet miniature AT AT seemed pretty damn fitting. June was great, and we're looking forward to an even better July. Enjoy your Saturday, guys.

It's Hot.....How Hot Is It?

I'm enjoying one of the hottest and sunniest days in years (England, at least). After a few months of winter, what should be spring has turned into a blistering summer with between 18-24°C(About 70 degrees Fahrenheit) of warm weather blasting down on my fully clothed body.

These dogs really are appropriate, and represent how me and my friends look right now.
