A Look At The Art Of APB

(Via)
True story, about 2 and a half years ago I was considering the possibility of heading to Glasgow, Scotland to join the APB (All Points Bulletin) team at the now defunct Real Time Worlds as a concept artist. Despite the awesome art style they created, the game was not well marketed and ended up being a complete flash in the pan, despite the amazing technology the game contained for character customization. We've compiled 14 additional images of some of the amazing concept art that artist Arnold Tsang created during his time working for them after the jump!

Real Time Worlds is no more, but the game has been picked up for a reboot as APB: Reloaded sometime soon as a free to play game. Its currently in closed beta, check it out here!

  1. I had high hopes for this game, it couldv'e been a great game, but sadly it isn't...

  2. All Points Bulletin set the record for the world's shortest lived MMO game with it's 73 days long stint before the servers were shut down.

It was still having some of the greatest gaming I've ever had with my friends. The clothing customizer was the most sophisticated I have seen in any game to date. Everyone was a unique snowflake in this world.

That's not to say the game didn't have problems. The stale combat and driving and poor matchmaking system contributed to it's downfall.

But I'm in the closed beta and Reloaded Production and Gamers First have done a great job on fixing those problems and it's shaping up to be a great game. The biggest problem right now are hackers and I hope they'll get rid of them soon enough.

All Points Bulletin: Reloaded is slated to go into open beta today, May 18.

The concept art of APB is awesome as well. One of my favorite characters is Shift.
