Jon Lajoie Makes The Most Generic 'Commercial Song' Ever

It's been a while since French-Canadian comedian Jon Lajoie has gotten around to a new song, and while I've been enjoying his role on The League it's about time to see some new content from the satirical mind. Please Use This Song is every bit as catchy as it is true, providing a horribly generic song to accompany the depressing lyrics about the current state of the music industry. 

It never really occurred to me how overused xylophones are used in commercial music, but somehow this track really emphasized their horribleness without even making mention to it. I don't think I'll ever be able to able to enjoy them in a song again. 

Todd & Aaron's Game Awards 2013 (Mega64)

It's a new year, and what better way to mark 2014 than to celebrate the games of 2013 with Todd and Aaron? If there's one thing I can be sure to count on, it's Mega64's Todd & Aaron Game Awards and we're lucky that this year is no different. After their brief appearance on Spike TV's horrendous VGX awards I was a bit worried that we wouldn't see them again this year, thanks for proving me wrong!

The Midnight Show's "PokéMAN!" Makes Me Feel Weird

It's been a minute or two since I've gotten a chance to post a new sketch by The Midnight Show, especially one written by the fantastic Heather Anne Campbell (most notable for her recent work on Whose Line Is It Anyway). Some might argue that they've had enough Pokémon parodies for one lifetime, but The Midnight Show manages to up the ante by getting a little more sensual and a whole lot more uncomfortable.

Mega64 Takes on Beyond: Two Souls

It feels like it's been ages since Mega64 did their last public skit, but with the magical experience of David Cage's Beyond: Two Souls recent release there's no better time for a skit like this. In typical Mega64 fashion you're in for 3-minutes for some awkward public encounters, although this is probably as awkward as it's going to get. With the popularity of Mega64, it's awesome to see the group find the ability to film a skit without instantly being recognized.

Behind the Music - Final Fantasy XIII-2 'Crazy Chocobo'

If you're unfamiliar with the Final Fantasy XIII-2 rendition of the Chocobo theme song I suggest jumping over here and giving the entire song a listen. Now that we have that out of the way, the wonderful folks over at Server Crashers have revealed the songs creation (in the most funniest way possible of course). 

 

Forget what you knew about the famed Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu, we're in a new era, an extreme era and our only musical savior is Shawn McPherson. If this isn't the true story of the song's inception, I don't know want to know what is because everything else pales in comparison (plus I might get a bit depressed knowing how big of a role Square Enix actually had in the creation of the song).

Mega64 Brings Back All The Nick Arcade Nostalgia For A New Generation

Interesting times are upon us folks, 90s television is no longer a memory of the recent past and the television we once watched has vanished from the minds of millions. We now have an entire generation that will never know the joys of Saved by the Bell, The Adventures of Pete and Pete, and most importantly Nick Arcade. Thankfully, Mega64 is looking to change that with Nick Arcade 2013, rebooted for an entirely new generation. It might not be the show you quite remember, but it's close enough, right?

While funny, this skit holds a lot of sad truths about the current focus of the video game industry. Where it once stood as an outlet for fun and goofiness that could be broadcasted on national television, it's slowly evolved into an over-budgeted kill fest. Of course there are still plenty of gaming gems being developed, the popular is no longer about just fun, it's about hollywood-esque entertainment. Now, excuse me while I go hole up in my room and rock myself to sleep with a pouch of Capri Sun under my Eddie Vedder poster.

The Midnight Show Films First Sketch Comedy Skit With Google Glass

While people are busy worrying about someone taking a picture of them walking down the street, all I can think about is the potential Google Glass has for online videos. While highly portable technology like the GoPro has been on the market for quite some time, Google Glass definitely gives an alternative avenue for filming in first-person. The Midnight Show's newest skit explores the wonders of Google Glass in the best way they know how, jokes and violence!

The Midnight Show's Heather Anne Campbell was one of the few lucky folks chosen to take an early look at Glass, and it seems Google couldn't have picked a better candidate. I imagine some YouTube stars might be filming their next vlog in the mirror, but judging from this, Heather will be pumping out some great content with Glass.

Learn How To Make Russian Dressing With Tim's Kitchen Tips

I don't know about you guys, but I love Russian dressing, the creamy tartness really accentuates the salad. The first episode of Tim's Kitchen Tips is the first cooking show I've been able to follow at home without feeling like an utter failure. In the expected flavor of Tim & Eric skits, Tim's Kitchen Tips is filled to the brim with awkward pauses, noises, and dialogue that's pure cringeworthy. I'm looking forward to see where this series goes, especially after the climatic ending of the Time & Eric GoPro show.

In all honesty though, that dressing is looking hot, I might have to try it myself later tonight. 

Tim & Eric's Go Pro Show

Just over a week ago, Jash hit the scene on YouTube. With a lineup including Tim & Eric,  Sarah Silverman, Michael Cera and Reggie Watts, the channel became instantly destined for YouTube success.For myself, Tim & Eric was probably the most exciting inclusion for the project, if solely for the fact that their anti-humor is absolutely perfect for the ADD-centered entertainment YouTube provides.

Tim & Eric's Pro Show looks to be the first step for Jash's complete YouTube domination. While seemingly simple on it's surface I fully expect some incredibly awkward and uncomfortable antics to emerge from the first-person views of Tim & Eric.

Trevor Moore's 'Pope Rap'

 

While the announcement of the Pope's retirement was a bit of a surprise for millions, the massive influx of Pope jokes was more than a given. Even with the large magnitude of sub-par, "the Pope likes little kids lolololol" jokes, Trevor Moore of Whitest Kids U' Know fame managed to pull out above the rest with 'The Pope Rap'. I can hardly comprehend the amount of hate Trevor is destined to receive after creating this masterpiece, but for people such as myself this is truly a godsend.

Coinciding with the motherf*ckin pope, you can pick up the song along with an entire album on March 26th in Trevor's debut album, "Drunk Texts To Myself". Can't say I'm not a little bit excited for more Trevor Moore comedy, the man is a genius.

The Midnight Show: BWAAAHHHH

Inception may have been one of my favorite movie trailers to be released in years, but something terrible happened after the film's immense popularity, the 'BWAAAHHHH.' I know, I know, it creates some incredible tension as the trailer quickly jumps from scene to scene but I can't help but roll my eyes and laugh every time a trailer uses this ridiculously overused trope. Unlike the Wilhelm Scream which works as an awesome 'Wheres Waldo' style of searching through a films audio track, the BWAAAAHHHH needs to die a fiery and painful death.

The Midnight Show - Christmas Orgy (NSFW)

Apologies in advanced. Navigating YouTube's subscription service has been a little more difficult than normal recently due to their wonderful makeover and I seemed to have missed The Midnight Show's newest Christmas themed skit. I must warn you, this is pretty damn NSFW, but I hoped seeing the word orgy in or around the title might have raise a few red flags for you guys. Either way, start your New Years off right with my favorite skit of 2013 thus far.

Obama Supporters: Look At What You've Done To Our Youth

Oh Midnight Show, how could I live without you? While skits from the group have been few and far between lately, skits like this pop up to remind me why I love them so. While the elections may have ended, there's always room to bring up Ayn Rand and her ridiculous philosophies (even if Atlas Shrugged is one of my favorite novels). Thank you Heather Campbell and The Midnight Show, I now know the proper form for raising my future children; guns, lots of guns.

Mega64 Does Fallout 3 Right

Say what you will about current Mega64, but their newest public skit is one of the best they've done. While Fallout 3 may be a few years old at this point, the work the guys have put into this skit is incredible and equally as hilarious.

Sometimes Beer Commercials Go Horribly Wrong

It's been a while since we've gotten the opportunity to post The Midnight show and that makes me sad. I have yet to be disappointed by one of their skits and the sheer quality of them all never ceases to amaze me. Following The Midnight Show's trend of dark humor, Party Girl Beer might be near the top of my list of favorite skits.

Bronies Confuse Me

 

My Little Pony has evolved into a cultural phenomenon in more ways than one. On one hand it's a well made children's show, but on the other it quickly spawned one of the most confusing groups of fans. Their interests towards the show range from harmless enjoyment to a full blown sexual fetish.  While the Brony culture is all too confusing for me to even attempt to understand, I can't really hate on them for sticking with something they enjoy so wholeheartedly (I'd be a bit of a hypocrite considering my Evangelion obsession). Still, there's no reason not to poke fun of them with a little bit of satire, which is precisely what we've given in the newest Busted Pixel skit.

Your Cat Probably Has A Drug Problem

 There's absolutely no way I can deny my (and most of Awesome Robo's) love for The Midnight Show. Everything the group puts out is gold in my eyes, upping the game of comedy with each new video. Their newest sketch takes a look into the horrible truth behind your cat's probable drug problems, and when I say probable, I mean most definite. Seriously, get that sh*t checked out.

Double Fine's Finest Adventure

Earlier last month, Double Fine, the folks behind Psychonauts, Brutal Legends, and The Gunstringer (to name just a few), set out to to create a game funded purely by their fans with the help of Kick Starter. It turned out, not only did fans want to see the game succeed, but they wanted to break every record Kick Starter had seen, donating well over $2,000,000 (there's still 8 days left! Quick donate here!). All that's left now is for development to start up. Unfortunately, when The Internet hears something it doesn't like, The Internet gets angry. Here's hoping The Internet stays happy (because we all love you, Tim).

Mario Party Gets A Little More Mature

Mario Party 9 was announced earlier this month, and unsurprisingly I couldn't care less. I still love the Mario Party games with all my heart and I'll continue to play them, but I highly doubt I'll ever get as excited as I once did. It's possible I'm getting a little too mature for the titles, and need something a little more mature. Such as a batsh*t insane Mario, drinking his eyes out. . . Nope!
