Pokémon Gives Us A Dose Of Slowpoke Reggae With 'Yadon Ninen Ya no etc.'

You would think my time spent on the internet would have nulled any sense of surprised by now, but apparently not. It's not that Yadon Ninen Ya no etc. is weird per se, it's the fact that I've never correlated Reggae music with Slowpoke. It makes almost too much sense. To make sure that everyone is aware of the perfect match, Pokémon Japan's YouTube channel has uploaded the above music video which seems intent on improving everyone's day.

I will admit, the hordes of staring Slowpoke are a tad unnerving, but the chill accompanying track is destined to put you in a good Friday mood. Kick back and let Slowpoke peer into the depths of your soul, it's not nearly as awful feeling as you would expect.

Google Maps - Pokémon Challenge

Call it an April Fools joke, but this is actually a pretty damn awesome collaboration between Google and Nintendo. Google's map software is actually now overrun with Pokémon in an amazing augmented reality stunt that will last till the 2nd of April. Following their Lego intiative, it seems like the Google map team has been having quite a bit of fun with their service.

Using a mixture of GPS and augmented reality goodness, users will be able to track down all 150 Pokémon in their own neighborhoods, with the promise that the best trainers will be invited to Google to take on the best trainers and be hired as a Pokémon Master. While the latter part of that claim is dubious at best, people have actually been out and about capturing them. Kind of like partaking in Geocaching (Except with infinitely more broad appeal), you can update you Google maps app on your Android or iOS phone to partake. I'm honestly hoping that Google actually rewards the people that will probably spend a day or two outdoors capturing every single last one of them.

The Midnight Show's "PokéMAN!" Makes Me Feel Weird

It's been a minute or two since I've gotten a chance to post a new sketch by The Midnight Show, especially one written by the fantastic Heather Anne Campbell (most notable for her recent work on Whose Line Is It Anyway). Some might argue that they've had enough Pokémon parodies for one lifetime, but The Midnight Show manages to up the ante by getting a little more sensual and a whole lot more uncomfortable.

Rare Candy Pokémon Gallery and Charity

Lickitung (via)

Using the talent of 151 artists, the Rare Candy Art Gallery and Charity is a collection of the originial 151 Pokémon in a vast amount of assortments. Each piece is currently up for auction on the Gallery's website where funds will all be directly donated to Canines For Disabled Kids. Quite a few of the pieces really stand out and I'm a sucker for alternative art for pop culture.

After the break I've provided 8 of my favorite pieces from the gallery that I might suggest you check out over here.

PokeAwesome 2 - Getting a Gym Badge

Game Grumps may be a good outlet for Egoraptor's goofy sense of humor, but there's nothing better than getting a new animation from him. The newest entry to the PokeAwesome series is pretty damn great, (although I admit, not quite as good as the first) and it's always pleasant to see Egoraptor's animation style improve more than I thought it could.

That being said, dammit does this animation hit home. Like, c'mon Brock, what the hell were you thinking?

Adventure Time Presents: Pokemon Fart Joke 101

The creators of Adventure Time did a parody of Pokemon! And it's pretty cute for a massive 2 minute fart joke.

Featuring the voice of 'Lumpy Space Princess' (and Adventure Time creator) Pendleton Ward and artist/animator Natasha Allegri, this cartoon should give you a smile to end your evening with. Or some advice for a rainy day.

Pokemon Dream Come True.

Everytime I play Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow/Fire Red/Leaf Green/Gold/Silver/Heart Gold/Soul Silver I hear the voice of Professor Oak, AKA Stuart Zagnit. Web show Underbelly has managed to capture my childhood dreams....for a second time.

If you want to know what my brain sounds like when playing Pokemon? It sounds a little something like this video, but with more Pikachu.

8 Pokemon of Nightmares Painted By Wednesday Wolf

Seattle based artist, Wolf, goes out of his way to paint some seriously dark takes on pop-culture. The way Wolf bleeds his colors and uses his brush strokes make for some uncomfortable pieces, which may or may not be leading up to my next nightmare (ok, they aren't really that frightening). For this set, we've got 8 amazing pieces from the wonderful world of Pokémon, taking what you once knew and corrupting it to a nearly unrecognizable status.

Hit the jump for 7 more pieces and check out his website at WednesdayWolf.com

Paul Robertson's Pokebinge

Grass bros. (Via)

Paul Robertson, the amazing Australian sprite creator/animator behind works such as Pirate Baby Cabana Battle has kind of been on a Pokemon flavored binge. So far he's released three pieces, each featuring an elemental flavor interpreted in his own awesome style. Hell yes.

Fire bros.

Water bros.

Pokemon Just Can't Escape Racism

Meet Lenora, the second Gym Leader in Pokemon Black and White, who holds the candle as the first major Black character in the Pokemon franchise. The shot above is the original Japanese art, which was apparently racist enough to warrant a change within both the game and the anime. What is this change? Check it out after the jump.

Pokemon: The After Years

Pokemon used to be huge. They used to be caught in their millions. But what happens when the Pokemon franchise fall through and the Pokemon were left to fend for themselves? Thanks to Dorkly, we have the answer. And it's not pretty. Find the rest after the jump.

Poke Items

Poke-burger & Fries

Insert Dubstep Pun Here

Well, folks, it's finally happened. Dubstep jokes have finally jumped ship, but at least we can enjoy one last video to celebrate the end of a historical event(and by that I mean a joke that's managed to last less than a year). Is it just me or is Dubstep already starting to play itself out? It made a huge splash in popular music less than a year ago, but it seems like Dubstep artists are running out of steam. It's becoming increasingly harder to decipher who's who in the bass driven electro-scene.

Than again, maybe it's been stale since it's South-East London debut. Can't say that I am disappointed.

Did You Order One Pokeball?

Not to be outdone by my fellow Awesome-Robo compatriot, I decided to order a pizza fashioned after -- what else -- a pokeball. Gaze upon it and drool in delicious awe!

If you guys are feeling particularly creative, request something zany the next time you order pizza. If you're lucky, the teenagers working the pizza joint will be huge stoners and comply with your every whim. Send us the results!

American Pokemon Black & White Deals

Live in the USA? Haven't bought the new Pokemon Games yet? Check after the jump, and we'll supply a list of the best deals and offers available!

Hey Pokemon Sunday

Us European fans have been enjoying it since Friday, and the Japanese Fans have been enjoying it since September of last year, but now the entire world is united in Pokemon goodness.  Today is the American release of Pokemon Black & White.

I have to say, the games have impressed me.  The Pokemon designs are quite.....lackluster, but the story arc and the graphics more than make up for it.  I feel like a 9 year old kid discovering Pokemon Blue all over again.  This time he works for a living, pay taxes, survived being a teenager and finally has that puppy he wanted.

WHO'S THAT POKEMON!?

The greatest feature of the Pokemon Anime is back in the Dub: Who's That Pokemon! It's been off the show, apparently, for a few seasons, and now it's back. I used to know all 151 Pokemon by heart, then 251, then some of the 386, and a then a few of the 493, and now hardly any of the 649. So many Pokemon, so little time.

Check it out, and be like me: trying to guess random Pokemon names because I have no idea what that pigeon-shaped thing is.

Nintendo Gets A Construction Paper Makeover

My good friend Jay makes some amazing prints with a very simplistic style. When you mix Jay's amazing style with some amazing Nintendo games you get something awesome. Over at Jay's website Room 237, you can pick up this print and a few more for less than ten dollars each, quite a steal if you ask me (the quality is outstanding).
