Kanye West, Macklemore and Tyler, the Creator Battle Illuminati Shamans in 'Hip-Hop RPG'

I've only just discovered Dominick Raburn's 'Hip-Hop RPG', and I can already say that it's hands-down one of the most bizarrely hilarious and entertaining web series' I've watched in a long while. The story follows a group of post-apocalyptic warriors who send a chosen soldier back in time to recruit their younger selves, change the course of history and avert the apocalypse. Sound familiar?

What if I told you the revolutionaries were a broadsword-toting Macklemore, an apothecary Drake, a mysteriously cloaked Kanye West with a reflective mask, and the chosen one was none other than Kendrick Lamar? It only gets crazier from here on out, with Kendrick performing limit breaks and Tyler the Creator transforming into a giant cockroach to battle Illuminati Shamans.

As a avid fan of the genre, It's immensely satisfying  to watch Raburn's combine of two things that, at least on their face, couldn't look to be farther apart (Hip-Hop and Old-School RPGs) into a mini-series that wears its self-awareness proudly and comes from such an obvious place of love and appreciation. Not since Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden have I seen or experienced such an off-beat marriage of two niche hobbies and art-forms.

The Art of Eldar Zakirov - Regal Felines

Hello once again friends!  I was lulled out of my blogging slumber (aka full-time work and school) by something that I just couldn't pass up: the regal feline portraits courtesy of Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Construction graduate Eldar Zakirov. The cute factor is there by kitty default, but these exceptional portraits aren't your typically brimming to the top sugary-cuteness, but something much more subtle, and classic. Massive Swerve

The Vancouver based Robert Valley recently uploaded his excellent animated piece from 2002, for the first time ever in HD which he humorously dubbed as a 'classic that won no awards and was accepted to no animation festivals world wide.' And its still a mystery to me why this awesome short got snubbed the way it did. Its a fantastically moody piece based off his paperback graphic novel by the same name, chronicling a night of partying and reckless abandon in his signature style.

His more recent project, Pear Cider and Cigarettes is currently in development and as of one month ago, he posted a video of himself creating some initial hand drawn animations. Check out the animatic video after the break!

Munk & Peaches: You Can't Run From My Love (NSFW)

Gomma Records, a German indie label led by Jonas Imbery and Mathias Modica has been working on a complete rework of some of the most iconic tracks from the once legendary Casablanca Records catalogue. Among them, this rework of Stephanie Mills' 1982 monster hit, 'You Can't Run From My Love' reimagined for a 2012 audience.

As well as bringing these tracks back into the spotlight, they've also released some incredibly risque music videos to boot with some truly WTF worthy underlying themes, so prepare your mind if you venture forth. I also really liked their awesome (And just as NSFW) rework of Michael Sembello's classic synthpop track, 'Maniac,' which you can find after the break!

Pingu's THE THING

Well if you've ever wanted to see John Carpenter's 'The Thing' recreated starring the arctic characters from the kids show known as 'Pingu,' well look no further. I never saw this coming..So without further ado, enjoy your nightmares.

Immortal Dog

Whenever Robogal and I are up researching content, we usually keep the TV on...And as anyone in the US probably knows, after 12 its pretty much the wild west of creative paid product advertising. These ads are all designed to prey upon your laziness and just try way too hard. These ads are shrill, loud and in your face when it comes to pushing crappy, shoddy products that you'd probably never consider buying in a sober state.

This brings us to Immortal Dog, the perfect parody of all the awful things that make up an infomercial. This video is a classic...And it nailed it right on the head.

Heinz Automato

Why aren't these more readily available? Two bored MIT guys, Bill Fienup and Barry Kudrowitz made amazing use of their robotics and engineering degrees to create this humanity advancing, violent condiment dispensing invention back in 2007.  Some pretty amazing outtakes of the Automato project after the jump.
