Back To The Future And Knight Rider Go Hand In Hand

Youtube user TheMoeFwacky created an awesome mashup of the Knight Rider theme with Back to the Future visuals- and it's a strangely perfect marriage. Sure, there's no Hasselhoff, but I would have taken time travel, DeLorean's and KITT over him any day of the week. Short and sweet.

The Official Back To The Future Lego Set Draws Near

Since Lego Cuusoo's inception in 2008 only three (quality) sets, including a Minecraft themed one have been produced, but the fourth project looks to be upon us shortly. For those unaware, Cuusoo is the equivalent of the Lego Kickstarter, allowing the burgeoning Lego community to vote on custom creations for the possibility of them being released in limited edition sets. Over a year and a half ago, the Back To The Future project was posted and quickly met it's goal, resulting in Cuusoo reviewing the project for production. Unlike a few past failures due to inappropriate content and IP restrictions, this one is actually happening!

The set is due to be released by the end of July with rumors circulating of it showing up at this year's San Diego Comicon. While the DeLorean isn't quite as streamlined as the original project, it's still looking pretty sexy in Lego form, although I think I'm more excited to own Doc Brown and McFly in Lego form. The aftermarket price of these is going to be ridiculous

NYC Takes Fashion To The Future

(Via)
When we think of the future, the image that often comes to the mind revolves around one of the most famous films of all time, and the almighty, retrofuturistic car that made us ponder a future of flux capacitors and flying cars. Back To The Future is known for it's futuristic looking redesign of a car that was so ahead of it's time that it failed once, the DeLorean, which immortalized the vehicle into the collective nerd conciousness. So would you like to take a ride in one around Downtown NY?

Mike Lubrano converted DeLoreans into working taxis that look like Back to the Future time machines as part of a promotion for a fashion line called Nooka, and gave us all a nostalgic new look to a car design we all love so much. Check out some more shots of the decked out DeLorean cabs after the break!

Lockitron Proves We're In The Future

HOLY SH*T. We are in the god damn future. Did you see that? He just unlocked a door with a phone! Wait, that's not all? Play a damn piano and get in your house? Alright, count me the f*ck in. My mind is racing with Lockitron possibilities. I'm already planning on setting up Lockitrons throughout my entire house with Resident Evil style piano puzzles, if you mess up Lockitron will lock all the doors and window and gas you. GENIUS.

Grand Theft Auto IV To The Future

Modding is one of the greatest things to come out of the gaming scene: Gamers can create missions, characters and skins to allow creative control in any given game. In this case, we have a working time machine, a Marty McFly skin and a new mode that makes one big game even bigger. Using a number of different mods for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, YouTube user seedyrom34 has turned the game into the ultimate tribute to Back To The Future.

The video shows him playing as Marty McFly in a fully working time-traveling Delorean. The time travel element really does add an extra element to the gameplay, and seems to be useful towards the getaway technique. Maybe this could be a good gameplay element to consider for a BTTF video game?

Although it seems odd that Marty uses military-grade weapons, it actually makes a lot of sense: I like to imagine this is a universe where he didn't save the Doc and went on a revenge spree. Given the sequels and reboots coming out over the next few years, it wouldn't surprise me if we saw that coming!

Mondo's Back To The Future Trilogy

Reprint please? (Via)
I missed out on a chance to pick these up last Friday due to a trip, but this Mondo set paying tribute to the classic Zemeckis movies were too cool to not post. This triptych (Three seperate images that are all thematically intertwined) of posters created by Phantom City Creative  made use of the DeLorean in various pieces to illustrate each of the three entries in the trilogy. The posters were sold for $88 (Get it?) and a variant set of three with matching colors went for $120. Check out the other two parts after the break!

Lego Back To The Future Needs To Happen

The DeLorean has never looked sexier

Lego creator, Masashi Togami proves that Legos can still be cool as hell while ignoring the the mechanized parts seen in current day sets. Even more awesome is Togami's creation is looking more and more likely to come to fruition via Lego's Idea Stage. Idea Stage basically allows Lego creators to display their work while the internet votes on their favorites, giving the sets a chance to be submitted for official Lego review. If the set reaches 10,000 or more votes, the Lego team will review Togami's work and consider a final design.

By simply following this link (right here, the link is right here!) you can vote for this Lego homage to make it's way into stores! I don't think I've ever wanted a Lego kit more than I do right now (ignoring their Star Destroyer). For more shots of Togami's work, hit the jump!

Dr. Who and Marty McFly team up for 'Re-T.A.R.D.I.D'

So, I know it's the 23rd of January (just a tad a late for The Busted Pixel's first video of the year), but we're hoping you can forgive us after watching 2012's first Busted Pixel video, Re-T.A.R.D.I.D. What happens when Dr. Who and Marty McFl-uhh, Christopher team up to investigate America's history? Surely the space-time continuum won't be destroyed!

Check out more Busted Pixel here!

What Is This Future?

If this isn't an elaborate fan or tribute video, this looks like the start to a not so subtle viral campaign announcing the return of the Back To The Future franchise...Hell yes! Seeing that the Doc actually makes a cameo, I'm kind of relieved knowing that this won't be a remake...Again, if it isn't some elaborate fan made video featuring Christopher Lloyd. The video is even filmed with a grainy eighties camera, giving it that throwback feel. I'm excited for the future, in more ways than one.
