Incredible Custom "Gundam x Attack on Titan" Crossover By Tori Han

(Via)
I've never felt like I needed something more than I feel right now. Custom model builder, Tori Han has put together and painted a stunning homage to Attack on Titan with his custom Gundam Mikasa. Using a color scheme mirroring that of the anime's Survey Corps, Tori Han has not only perfected the uniform look but also handcrafted the weapons and maneuver gear. We've featured quite a few custom models in the past, but this is the first crossover that's truly caught my eye.

The attention to detail on every piece of the model is beautiful, and the articulation really sells this as a genuine piece of Attack on Titan merchandise. While I doubt we'll ever see a mass production of this beauty it'll definitely be at the top of my want list for days to come. After the break is bucketload of images showcasing the custom model's detail, take a look for yourself and share with me the feeling of want.

The Amazing Custom Model Kits Of MDSP - Master Level

(Via)
A dash of Gundam, a few Tachikoma from Ghost in the Shell, some Maschinen Krieger with a dash of Armored Core - Those are just a few components of a model kit hobbyists complete breakfast. We just recently unearthed the website of Japanese custom model kit maker/customizer/kitbasher MDSP, who does this work for a living. A master of his craft, the level of detail that he dedicates to each and every piece is nothing short of astounding, showing off just how absorbed he gets into each one of his projects.

Through the painting process and the application of wear on the Zaku above, MDSP successfully conveys an image of a battle hardened veteran unit which has seen it's fair share of time on the battlefield. You can't help but just appreciate someone who truly treats every little miniature as a labor of love from start to finish..His vast gallery houses dozens of amazing projects, but we've hand picked a few for you to check out after the break! For any mech head out there, prepare yourself for some truly amazing eye candy.

This Custom Evangelion/Gundam Mashup Figure Must Be Mine

(via)
As I laid eyes upon this beauty I couldn't help but yell out, "Oh my god, why hasn't this been done before?" because let's face it, it should have. This custom created model is by far one of the coolest mech pieces I've seen this year. The incredible attention to detail really sells this thing as a set that should exist as a purchasable product, because god damn is it sexy.

The figure, titled The White Devil of E.F.S.F (holy sh*t, even the name is cool as hell) was created by artist, Dunpeel, who's website is filled to the brim with more custom kits. While only one exists I'm currently throwing money at the screen hoping more might pop up eventually.

Hit the jump for a breakdown of Dunpeel's work along with a better view from all angles.

The Model Kit Universe Of Dokuzaru

Godfather IV (Via)
Did you know that Geocities still exists in Japan? Well I was baffled by this discovery myself, and I still have no recollection of how I ran into Dokuzaru's archive of incredible miniature mashups. I recall seeing his work, before realizing that he had been published in Hyperweapon, a yearly collection of fantastic custom modelkit mashups from the best in the hobby.

The Geocities blog, which dates back to 2007 features all his odd experimental pieces, stories behind his models and his process for creating them (Just remember to use Google Translate). I thought it was pretty damn cool to see how these types of customs were created, by mashing together a large number of odds and ends from various model kits, electronic junk and other sources. Check out a large selection of his awesome work after the break!

The Art Of Plastic Chamber

Orange Wedge (Via)
I've had a soft spot for model kit bashers since being exposed to them at a hobbyist convention, so finding the work of the Plastic Chamber truly made my night. The group, which is a collective of three Japanese artists: Gerusea, S3 and STEVEN is dedicated to the art of taking existing model kits and combining, painting and modifying them into all new designs.

I try to think of it as working with a much more complex, high end set of Lego pieces. Its an art in itself, which takes a certain mindset to be able to extrapolate the many different, unintended uses of different model kit components. Thankfully Plastic Chamber didn't hold back at all with their work, creating some truly fantastic pieces that you can check out after the break!

The Mecha Works Of Kallamity

1/35 Briegel (Via)
Kallamity, AKA Luca Zampriolo is an Italian model kit maker with quite the talent for creating some absolutely incredible custom model kits of mechs from his own universe. There's definitely a large market out there for limited edition, premium priced custom made toys (Lets not forget Ashley Wood's 3A Toys).

These kits run for a few hundred dollars a pop, and sell out thanks to their incredible detail and unique designs. And judging from his photo gallery, he's also got a fanbase in Japan as evidenced by photos of him with Kow Yokoyama of Maschinen Krieger fame. Check out a small sampling of some of his works after the break!

Maschinen Blitz

Kitten sold separately.
Maschinen Krieger is a line of scale models kits based on the universe created by Kow Yokoyama, Hiroshi Ichimura and Kunitaka Imai in the 80's.

With aesthetics that probably went on to inspire the works of Junji Okubo, Krieger presents a retro space look that seems borrowed from early space science fiction movies, The series has a solid fan base that collects and share designs interpretations from all over the world ( mostly in Germany and Japan) like this site, that really takes things into a whole different level.

There seems to be no coherent storyline and some data overlaps with older documents and stories but it doesn't really matter, as the models look awesome anyway. Check out a few more images of cool Krieger kits after the break!
