Michigan's Real Life 'Wayne's World'

Nick and J.B. are two Michigan based public access entertainers who've been running their show 'Hot Tracks' for years. I recently stumbled upon the two's videos on a late night and couldn't help but watch every video that has ever been posted about the guys. While some have been quick to point out that the two have Acute Autism and that it's unfair to laugh at the two, I found it completely irrelevant.

These guys are genuinely hilarious, and the way they joke is unlike anything I've ever seen. As silly as it mind sound, I've found them to be their own breed of comedy that I honestly can't get enough of. Seriously, check these guys out and don't get too scared of Nick's evil eye and his """"""""PURE""""""""INTENSITY"""""""".

It seems that I'm not the only one completely in love with 'Hot Tracks', as Soapbox Pictures has taken it upon themselves to document the daily lives of Nick and J.B. to tell their side of the story. The documentary is set for the end of January and I couldn't be more excited.

Someone needs to get these guys a legit TV show, because there's definitely something special with them

RWBY: The New Original Series From Rooster Teeth

We love showcasing new things on this site, and this newly released trailer from Rooster Teeth, the guys behind the hugely successful Red Vs Blue (that famous Halo machinima series you may have heard of) is a perfect example. This very interesting trailer is for RWBY, a new original series helmed by Red vs. Blue Lead Animator Monty Oum. With a minimalist style reminiscent of Journey and a simple, cel shaded anime art style, I'm quite intrigued.

It could be very interesting, and I'm a fan of the things the company produces, although I can't help but be a little skeptical about the choice of a generic anime style. However, I have every faith, though, that this show will bring something new to the table and will show audiences that creating shows online can be a successful endeavor. Putting it through a television network doesn't always work, and as cult-loved show Community will tell you...

Scout Vs Witch - More Source Filmmaker Goodness

Most people predicted that it would take a few months for people to become equated with Source Filmmaker before we started getting professional looking videos from the general public and it's oh so true. Scout Vs Witch is a simple idea but showcases the kind of powerful tools that Valve has placed into the hands of Steam users. This franchise mashup features the Scout from Team Fortress 2 facing off against the zombies & infected from one of Valves other big hitting franchises Left 4 Dead. This stylish video has got it all: action, great animation and special effects, coupled with top notch clever usage of already existing voice clips from the games.

It's an entertaining, fun watch, and a taste of even better things to come as people get more acquainted with using the software. If you're by any chance familiar with the South Korean revenge flick called 'Old Boy,' a certain sequence in this short will definitely put a smile on your face.

The Karaoke Breathalyzer

Have you noticed that only wasted people seem to take the stage at Karaoke? I'm a drinker. A HEAVY drinker to boot too at times. The amount of times I've embarrassed myself because of the sweet taste of alcohol is quite frankly an embarrassment in itself. One of the unfortunate side effects of the substance is that I start to believe I have talent. This will often lead to me taking the microphone & performing an 'amazing' session of Karaoke. The last time was a rendition of 'Teenage Dirtbag' so bad I nearly got kicked out of the club. Whilst this invention doesn't take away the humiliation, it might just save a few lives.

Bar Aurora & Boteco Ferraz have created the 'Karaoke Breathalyzer.' In order to increase awareness about drunk driving, the world’s first microphone breathalyzer was created. People were then invited to sing karaoke. At the end of each song, instead of the score people were greeted with their alcohol blood level. Honestly? The idea is genius. I took this more seriously than most Government sponsored adverts. It's light hearted enough to make you think, allows you to laugh at yourself and delivers an important message: If you can take the stage, you should be responsable enough to take the wheel.

Stupidity at 2500 FPS

If you've been following us for a while, you probably know that here at Awesome Robo! we're huge fans of slomo and insanely expensive cameras. As a Jackass fan, the third installment particularly caught my attention because it messed around with the insanely expensive Phantom flex cameras, especially made to capture high speed footage . So what happens when someone takes a camera that can capture at 2500 frames per second and film mundane objects like fish bowls, lawnmowers, firecrackers and more wreaking havoc on their environment? This super slow footage motion highlight reel from the Danish TV show "Dumt & Farligt" will make you want to sell everything you own for the opportunity to mess around with one of these bad boys.

Mega64: Uncharted 3

Mega64 just recently made a triumphant return to their video games in real life theme with a simulation of one of the most popular games of last year, Uncharted 3. Rocco uses the Mega64 system to become Nathan Drake, discovering the ancient relics of "annoyance" and "public shame." What perils will he face when fighting the poison coursing through his bloodstream? Only one way to find out, and I think this video might just be that treasure you are looking for...

Google Celebrates Halloween The One Way They Know How

How does Google celebrate Halloween? By putting up a really cool video on their front page! Did you expect any less? This stop motion video features the Google gang shaping 6 giant pumpkins into the 6 letters before the twilight hours, with the Google crew messing about and getting changed into costumes in the meantime. Some day the Awesome-Robo crew will make a halloween video on a more epic scale with 11 pumpkins spelling out the site, and a giant robot cat holding it up. But hey, until we can make that magic work we'll let Google use our idea.

X-Men: First Class Gets First Class Fan Opening Titles

The new X-Men film is set in the Sixties. So why not create a title sequence in the style of the films from that era? Joe D! decided to give it a go, and the result is just stunning.
Set during the midst of the Cuba Missile Crisis, X-Men: First Class tells the story of the first team coming together, before they would become the heroes and villains we know from the original X-Men Trilogy.

In his own words:
This sequence was designed to give a very brief primer on the time period, the setting, as well as show the relationships of the characters in this film, as they are very different from the previous movies and audiences shouldn't be confused as to why Professor X and Magneto, enemies in the original trilogy, are the best of friend in this prequel.

Super Punch held a contest redesigning the posters for the film, which played it safe by sticking very close to the correlation to the original trilogy, and winding up rather mundane compared to the slick trailer rife with espionage, red fear, and 60s hair. Several people were quick to make posters in the Mod, Saul Bass, and James Bond style that I had in mind, so it was decided that I'd make a title sequence instead.

X-men: First Class will be released internationally on the 3rd of June.

How to Fail at Jihad: With Added Fries

As if it didn't sound obvious enough, here is some advice for all the artists and activists out there: Kidnapping and Beheading a Ronald McDonald Statue Can Get You Arrested.

A group of artists kidnapped a statue of the famous icon and staged a spoof Al Qaeda-style hostage YouTube video. They demanded that McDonald's answer questions on how it produces their food. If the questions were not answered, Ronald McDonald would be executed.

Downgrade To Kick Some Ass

Artsits Valere Amirault, Sarah Laufer, Jean Delaunay, and Bejamin Mattern created this amazing short film, 8Bits for the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. 8Bits follows an 8-bit super hero in his quest for vengeance against the impending high-def generation. Whether you prefer retro games, or big budget blockbusters, this flick is amazing and I suggest you watch it. Now.
