Mega64: Journey

 

There were whispers around the internet of Mega64's fabled Journey skit which graced the eyes of GDC goers, but I had always assumed it would be at least a year before the group would release it. Following the route of many past Mega64 skits, the group take to the streets to f*ck with the people of California, except this time I found it pretty damn heartwarming.

 

The skit is still hilarious, don't get me wrong, but there's something about the games soundtrack and memories of past game experiences that really tug at the heartstrings. Or it might also have something to do with the fact that we've evolved from calling everything Nintendo to calling everything Angry Birds. God f*cking dammit.

Mega64: Uncharted 3

Mega64 just recently made a triumphant return to their video games in real life theme with a simulation of one of the most popular games of last year, Uncharted 3. Rocco uses the Mega64 system to become Nathan Drake, discovering the ancient relics of "annoyance" and "public shame." What perils will he face when fighting the poison coursing through his bloodstream? Only one way to find out, and I think this video might just be that treasure you are looking for...

Elder Scrolls Adventures

Skyrim. Big selling RPG. Anticipated sequel. Cartoon for Saturday mornings. This reimagining of the insanely immersive RPG as a Saturday morning cartoon from the '80s was created by the epic animator Harry Partridge, the genius behind the Watchmen saturday morning cartoon, American Akira and other pieces of brilliance. Whilst this video is aimed less at humour and more of showing his love towards the series. The clip is incredible, especially considering it reminds me of every show I saw as a kid. It also has dragons, of course.

5-Second Films: Special Edition

In honour of the latest Star Wars release, 5 Second-Films (one of my personal favourite youtube channels) have been doing a week-long masterclass in digital trickery and filmic enhancery by taking old 5-second films skits and making them in Brian Firenzi's true vision. Check it out, as I'm sure you'll enjoy the new clips much better than the shockingly bad originals!

Mega64: Catherine Is True Guide Of Dating

Mega64 have more balls than any of us. Take this video for example. I have enough trouble talking to women. Well, that's a lie. But Rocco has the balls of steel that allows him to turn the concept of one of the weirdest games released this year into a video about bugging women into going on dates with him.

So while you recover from your third try of Catherine (or the December release we have in the UK), enjoy Mega64's newest video. You may just learn one or two things about picking up chicks.
