John Carpenter - Night
Horror maestro John Carpenter is front and center in the first music video promoting his debut album "Lost Themes". One of if not the most iconic horror director of the early to late 80's, Carpenter is just as much one of the architects of the aural landscape of the contemporary sci-fi horror genre as he is its visual curator.
In "Night", we see Carpenter don a Oculus Rift helmet to embody the presence of a remote-controlled robot, tearing through the iridescent-soaked streets of midnight L.A. before meeting up with a buddy for a friendly game of baseball. Although the video itself isn't directed by Carpenter, co-directors Gavin Hignight and Ben Verhulst do an exceptional job of echoing the visual nuances of his best work. Here's hoping we see more videos from this album in the future!

Subaru's "Attack on Titan" Forester Commerical
The short itself is directed by Higuchi Shinji, acclaimed special effects artist and newly announced director of the live-action adaptation. The giants themselves are a mix between impressive prosthetic make-up effects and green screen VFX. This only makes the wait for the impending film all the more tantalizing/frustrating. Get on it, Shinji!

14 Minimalist Movie Posters Based Off Their Cars
![]() |
| (Via) |
Created by Jesús Prudencio, a Spanish web designer and illustrator based out of Seville, Spain who set out to combine his passion for cars and movies into an amazing project simply titled Cars And Films. In this pleasantly minimalist series, Prudencio condensed each of his movie posters into their most iconic vehicle and primary color, ranging from obvious choices like Ghostbuster's Ectomobile to less obvious, clever choices like The Shining's unlikely snow plow, which ultimately becomes the key to escaping complete madness in the Kubrick film.
Simple, yet masterfully executed, Jesús offers us a multi-decade showcase of his favorite passions in one convenient format. All the prints, in both a framed and unframed format can be found on his Etsy shop, for those inclined. Check out the rest of this awesome movie poster series after the break!

Out Of This World : VW Meets Redline
Directed by Kaism Lim, 'Out of this World' is a pretty damn spectacular ad/short film created to virally promote the Volkswagen GTI in China. The production values behind this project are pretty mind blowing, employing a style reminiscent of a mixture between Takeshi Koike's hyperkinetic 'Redline' anime and the Wachowski brothers' recent take on the Speed Racer franchise. To put it lightly, it's a 4 minute visual feast that was a complete viral success in it's intended market back in late 2012.

Singapore's Luxury Vehicle Elevators
If you happen to have anywhere between 9-20 million dollars and live in Singapore, you should check out this fantastic little feature for the Hamilton Parks luxury residence, a 30 floor skyscraper situated in the cities swank Orchard Road. If there's something to be said about certain cars, they are works of art that typically spend their lives in solitude instead of being admired.
The building solves this problem by turning your living room into a garage, thanks to the designers coming up with a specialized vehicle elevator equipped with a treadmill and rotating floors to move the vehicle into place. The system utilizes a highly encrypted biometric (Fingerprint scan) system to ensure the owner receives the correct car, with the only caveat coming in the form of there being only one elevator for residents. I guess getting to work late isn't typically a problem for people with that type of money, lets just hope they have as much patience to spare.

The Automotive Sketches Of Stefan Marjoram
![]() |
| Fiat S76 (Via) |
Stefan Marjoram is a motorsport fanatic in the fullest sense of the word. He works, photographs and documents cars and motorbikes full time, however we will display what I found to be the 'awesomest' facet of Stephan's skills; His passion for sketching obscure prototypes as well as retro vehicles and designs, like the Fiat S76 pictured above. Most of them ( I'm not a car connoisseur) seem to be real life engineered race cars, taken from retro fairs and motorsport exhibitions.
After the break, you can check out a small collection of sketches and drawings from Mr. Marjoram's portfolio situated on his extensive blog. Enjoy!

Le Mans Classic 2012

These amazing images were captured by French photographer Laurent Nivalle during the Lemans Classic 2012, a grueling nonstop 24 hour race featuring classic supercars. With 450 cars participating in teams of 5 for the endurance event, the race is considered as a chronicle of racing history for aficionados of the sport.
On a side note, does anyone remember when they attempted to make videogames for LeMans? Those didn't sell so well, and it's not so hard to see why. Check out 7 more beautiful retro graded images from Nivalle's portfolio after the break!

Urban Outlaw: The Trailer
Urban Outlaw is an awesome look at an up and coming figure/legend in the Porsche customization scene, known as Magnus Walker. A self made millionaire who started his path to fortune by selling hats on Venice beach, he's made it his hobby to collect Porsche 911's from every year imaginable and customize, optimize and race them. This guys obsession is on an entirely new level.

Ferrari 458: Eye Candy
There's something about watching an exotic car, presented beautifully in its natural setting, the road. In a way its kind of the same feeling you get when watching documentaries about beautiful, rare animals. White Tigers come to mind. The $220,000 vehicle shown in this 2 minute video is a veritable beast, with an output of up to 562 horsepower and an intense V8 engine that holds the world record for power output per gallon. Gotta love the eye candy. As a bonus, check out the obscene video for the gull doored Pagani Huayra after the break!

Disney Appmates 'Cars' Toys
iPads and tablet computers in general are the talk of the computing world. It was only a matter of time before they started aiming the product towards kids but at least they made it so darn cool.
Disney has released Appmates, small Hot Wheels-sized toys from the Pixar movie Cars, that physically interact with the multitouch screen on the iPad. The cars from Cars "drive" across the screen, with racing and other games reacting to the cars' movements. Disney calls the technology a "virtual play mat" where kids can experience the world of Radiator Springs. That's pretty darn cool.
The cars sell for $20 as a 2-pack, with the companion apps available for free. The toys go on sale next month. And for those parents who are starting to get worried it won't harm your iPad at all. Can't give that excuse to your kids anymore...

Making Of A BMW 3 Series
I've never been terribly interested in talking about cars, but this timelapse of the making of a BMW 3 series is pretty damn fascinating. A camera placed inside and alongside the car tracks the process of assembly for one white BMW. Its kind of dizzying seeing how much conveyor belt travels on, and the sheer amount of people who each do their own task meticulously. That's German engineering for you.

Carbon Fiber Weaving: Mesmerizing
What you're looking at above is the creation of a carbon fiber support pillar for a $400,000 car, the Lexus LFA. The device is known as a carbon loom, using resin impregnated strands of carbon that are intricately woven together to create a light, durable material that is harder than steel. Seeing priceless devices like these at work just puts me in a spell.

Garages
These are some of the coolest designs we've run into for incorporating the garage as a decorative element in people's houses. Expensive cars, rich peoples, and awesome integration of cars into people's houses. From private individuals to the lead designer of Bape, we have quite a spread here.

Unique Car Presentation
We enjoyed the graphic presentation this advertising company used to promote their cars for an article. Featured are Infiniti, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin. Very eighties, very eye catching.
