Lollipop Chainsaw Looks To Be everything I Want From A Video Game

Suda 51 is punk as f*ck, and this trailer 100% confirms it. Grasshopper Manufacture, the folks that brought you Killer7, No More Heroes, and No More Heroes 2 are at it again, this time bringing along the help of James Gunn (writer of Super and Slither). I was fully expecting insanity from Suda51's next entry but was a little disappointed when it was announced to be Lollipop Chainsaw. Yes, a chainsaw wielding cheerleader is a bit over the top, but it still seemed a bit tame for the studio. This trailer has me fully on board, though.

While I expect plenty of mindless Zombie killing throughout the game, it's the bosses I'm most excited for. Grasshopper Manufacture has always created some of the coolest and most inventive bosses in modern gaming(seriously, if you haven't played the Handsome Men Showdown in Killer7, you're missing out). The fact that one of the bosses (voiced by Mindless Self Indulgence's Jimmy Urine) yells out c*cks*cker while you avoid the massive letters is enough for my day one purchase.

Lollipop Chiansaw releases June 12th for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. If you miss big titles being wacky and fun, rather than the overwhelming entries of gritty shooters, this game might be the one for you.

15 Minutes of Bioshock Infinite Makes Me Want A Time Machine (minor spoilers)

Alright, that's it, either you get me a time machine or I'm hibernating until 2012. I hardly ever get excited for games anymore, but BioShock Infinite looks to be one of the greatest pieces of interactive story-telling to date. Judging from the trailer above (small spoilers of course), I'm already seeing a possible game of the decade, but I won't jump the gun just yet.

Unlike BioShock and BioShock 2, the world of BioShock Infinite is festering with life, showing the degradation of a society in the midst of war. Being able to walk around the BioShock Infinite world and interact with it's citizens looks like one of many immersing aspects of the game. That and blowing their faces clean off with a shotgun while using a murder of crows for crowd control. I must say, the part I'm post excited for is the use of Columbia's skyline system, allowing for amazing chase sequences like the one above.

GODDAMN, I am excited for this game.

An In Depth Look At Hawken

This two part developer walkthrough just popped up, featuring none other than Khang Le, the CEO and Art Director of the 6 man outfit developing Hawken called Adhesive Games. We gleaned quite a few details from the video, which now give a much more realistic idea as to the scale of the game. Check out our bullet points:

-Multiplayer only
-3 types of mechs (Light, Medium, Heavy)
-No ammo to worry about, replaced with an overheat system
-Life does not regen, you can go into mobile healing mode which makes you invisible on the radar
-Primary and secondary weapons, no dual wield
-Limited RPG style upgrade system for defense, offense and speed
-Limited jump/boost capabilities available

No word as to the number of maps, but I'm guessing there will be less than a dozen to make this feasible as an XBLA product. Check out part 2 of the walkthrough covering Khang's artistic choices and direction after the break!

Metal Gear Solid Looking To Get The HD Treatment

There's not much in terms of Metal Gear Solid that I'd pass up, actually I wouldn't pass up anything Metal Gear Solid related. Over at 1UP a rumor for an HD remake of the first three entries has risen. If this rumor is true, which it may be considering the recent HD collections Sony has released, then f*** the f*** yes.

Always Bet On Duke: My Duke Nukem Love Story

A new trailer just popped up for Duke Nukem Forever, a game that to many was a thing of legend.  Vaporware.  There was even a website dedicated to tracking everything that had happened since the game was announced back in April, 1997.  Found here, btw.

Apparently You Like Final Fantasy XIII, Here's Three More

Despite the general public despising Final Fantasy XIII's horribly linear game, you still bought it. You bought it so much Square Enix decided it would be a good idea to make three more. While two of the titles, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (now named Final Fantasy Type-0) were already known, Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy XIII-2 on Tuesday. Is this a good thing? Probably not, but we can at least pretend it will be until it comes out.

While Final Fantasy XIII was beautiful, the gameplay didn't leave a great taste in my mouth, it actually didn't leave any taste. After putting so much effort into their engine the team forgot to add the gameplay, so instead of the enthralling Final Fantasy experience I was expecting I was given a leash and dragged around like an abused puppy. Typical to all Square Enix announcements not much information was given other than a couple trailers. Stay tuned for more information.

Whenever that might be.
