Worth Checking Out - Interference

Offer me cyberpunk and I'll offer you my money, it's as simple as that. Interference is a tech-noir styled puzzle-platformer filled with juicy cyberpunk imagery and a pulsating soundtrack. With gameplay similar to that of Mark of the Ninja and the sleeper hit Gunpoint, Interference seems to borrow ideas and build upon them in a fully fleshed out world.

In Interference, exploration is just as important as stealth, pushing players to explore the world and progress at their own pace. Drawing inspiration from Blade Runner, Akira, and Dark City, the game's constant neon-fueled world is absolutely gorgeous.

While the game looks to be coming along rather nicely, developer Anthony Beyer is looking for a bit of support. You can donate towards the Indiegogo campaign over here, the campaign still has 28 days left as of now so there's plenty of time fully fund it. Chop chop!

'Ghost Of A Tale' Is Basically The Secret of Nimh Video Game

An Early Alpha Sneak Peak
Former Universal Studios animation director, Lionel Gallat is definitely pushing for an ambitious project with his first game, Ghost Of A Tale. With beautifully rendered 3D worlds and characters, Gallat hopes to create a "small yet beautiful game with environments that look a bit like movie sets" with gameplay mechanics similar to that of Zelda and a world similar to that of Redwall, Secret of Nimh and Robin Hood. As ambitious as the project sounds, Gallat has already released the first batch of early alpha footage which looks absolutely gorgeous for a one man project.

The amount of detail put into the environments and characters is absolutely stunning, but unfortunately that isn't always enough to make a game. In order to help reach the games completion, Gallat has created an Indiegogo campaign with a goal of around $60,000 in order to hire additional talent for the project. For such a beautiful title, Gallat's initial goal is an incredible modest amount but with only 12 days remaining the campaign is just barely reaching 50%. I still have faith that the game will be fully funded, but as it stands it's going to need quite a push.

So what do you think, are you planning to donate? Head over to the Indiegogo page for a few more screenshots along with a list of some awesome donation perks

Skullgirls Ends IndieGoGo Campaign With Nearly Double

Wow guys, what a ride. Skullgirls may have been down for the count once, but fans have proven that they're not willing to let that happen again. After the month long IndieGoGo campaign, Skulls girls has raised over $829k reaching every single stretch goal and basically assuring that the game's cast will basically double.

While I was definitely expecting the campaign to be funded, I could have never imagined the support it gained in the past week alone. Not only are founders given the option to vote for two brand new characters and three confirmed characters, but the folks over at Mane6 (previously known for the cancelled MLP: Fighting is Magic) are also being given the Skullsgirls engine.

Awesome job everyone, things like this bring a lot of hope back for the way games are headed.

Skullgirls Support Continues to Amaze

(via)

I don't think I'll be able to forgive myself for being so late to post this, but it's important to inform you about the Skullgirls Indiegogo campaign if you don't already know about it. Normally I try to avoid posting campaigns that have been funded to infinity and beyond, but Skullgirls and it's community is truly something special.

Last year, after the unfortunate demise of Reverge Labs all seemed doomed for the Skullgirls developer but shortly thereafter the team reformed to create Lab Zero Games. After efforts to push Skullgirls into the limelight during EVO, things started to look pretty grim for the developers once again. It's truly a shame to see a company like Reverge Labs/Lab Zero get brushed aside amongst other competition, especially after witnessing the amount of love the crew puts into their work.

Luckily, the community behind Skullgirls has something to say about the entire ordeal.

Worth Checking Out : Riot

While I initally mistook this title as a new entry from the Superbrothers (Sword & Sorcery), it turns out that these Florence based developers were only inspired by the distinct visual style of the pixel artists. In attempt to create a comprehensive simulator based off of real life events, the indie dev team is hoping to offer two distinct perspectives and moral issues that make up a modern riot.

The devs currently have a campaign on Indiegogo to help fund the completion of the project and cover licensing, software and living expenses. Considering how cool the visual style and concept of the game is already, I'd recommend dropping this project a few bucks to help these devs reach their meager $15,000 goal. Check out the Riot Indiegogo page for more details.
