Lego Captain America : Probably Better Than The Movie

Captain America was probably the best superhero movie from last year's giant batch of Avengers flavored flicks, but Youtube user ForrestFire wasn't quite satisfied with the PG-13 violence. Due to not having access to talent like Chris Evans, he opted to create this hilariously over the top, violent massacre with Captain America flavored Legos. Its awesome.

Comic-Con 11: Captain America Proposes

The Captain finally fights the ultimate enemy, loneliness. At Comic-Con, a Captain America cosplayer proposed to his girlfriend on the Avenger Shield Helicarrier that was set up to hype the film. If you can think of anything more romantic then you aren't at Comic-Con.

Comic-Con 11: Captain America Deleted Scene

This Captain America deleted scene shows the horrible side-effect of the superhero formula. It's only a small effect, really.

6 Amazing Captain America Posters

Anti Captain America propaganda courtesy of Eric Tan.

As San Diego Comicon rolls around, a slew of various posters by high profile artists have started to trickle out, right in time for the upcoming Captain America flick. Three artists that we've featured rather extensively on this blog contributed to these amazing limited edition posters: Eric Tan, Tyler Stout and Olly Moss! These prints will probably be seriously limited, and run for up to $100+ a pop. Check out a half dozen different movie posters/propaganda pieces after the break by these awesome artists..and if you're at San Diego Comicon, be sure to snag one of these if you get a chance!

Captain America Fights For The United States Of Nyan

I normally resist posting memes, but as the comic editor this one caught my eye....and heart. Meet Nyan America! It's actually really clever, the rainbows are replaced by the colours of the American flag and the stars are bombs....but who cares? NYAN~<3

appendix - Before I get any emails, in Britain we spell colour with a U. We don't have as much freedom, but we love making words longer.

Battlefield Heroes: "Extraordinary Heroes" Confuses Audiences

No, this is NOT a Captain America tie-in, although from the blatantly similar costume design it could be classified as rip off of the year. Battlefield Heroes has a new set of DLC incoming, and it involves super-powered heroes fighting in a war. Huh.

But in all seriousness, this trailer confuses the crap out of me. It just looks so damn cute and fun, and I'm sure it will be ten times better than Sega's sh**ty attempt at a Captain America tie in (We haven't forgotten about Ironman 2) game. Who knows... Perhaps EA has a good idea on their hands here to indirectly cash in on the Captain America fad? This homage has definitely caught my eye.

Captain America Throwback Poster Is Spectacular

This poster by Paolo Riviera wins on so many levels, being an amazing tribute to both Captain America and movies of the era. Paolo Riviera, a comic book artist from Brooklyn created this 16x24' vintage poster which would be given to both cast and crew of the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger movie.  Everything from the typography to the composition and layout remind me of awesome retro posters from the 40's and 50's.  Check out more of Paolo's amazing art work on his blog, The Self-Absorbing Man.

The 'Captain America: The First Avenger' Trailer Has Arrived

Not much I can say, the trailer is out and has a bunch of ass kicking, patriotic footage. Catch wimpy Steve Rogers become a real man and fighting Nazi/Hydra soldiers and some awesome shield throwing action. They should make this into a comic.

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell and Sebastian Stan and opens July 22.

Marvel Needs More Variant Covers Like This

Artist R. Grampa made this awesome variant cover for Marvel. Personally, I rarely ever buy variant covers, mostly because they just aren't cool enough for the extra cash. Although, if more covers took the approach of giving The Incredible Hulk down-syndrome I'd be all over them.
