The Amazing Art of Vance Kovacs

(Via)
The closest contemporary I can think of to compare Vance Kovacs' artwork to is Frank Frazetta. That may sound brazenly audacious at first, but after looking through Kovacs' high fantasy-infused warriors and CG-sculpted vistas, I rest happily knowing that the legacy of the late-great Frazetta lives on through the generation he inspired. And of which Kovacs is undoubtedly a part of.

Vance is a digital artist and illustration designer who has dabbled at the intersection of game design, publishing, and major motion pictures for more than 15 years. His previous clients include Disney, Warner Bros, Epic Games, Blizzard, and Paramount Studios; And has worked as a concept artist for such films as Narnia, Thor, John Carter, and MIB 3. Check out more of his awesome work after the break!

Thor Deleted Scene: Focusing On The Sidekicks

I wasn't the biggest fan of Thor, but it was passable compared to this summer's other superhero offerings. In that regard, I'll probably be picking up the Blu-ray next week so I can watch it again and make another judgement. The bluray promises to have 80 minutes of supplemental content, so hopefully we'll be seeing a lot more scenes like the one above which help flesh out the characters more. In anticipation of the upcoming Thor Bluray release, the creators have shared one of the many deleted scenes online.

Join S.H.I.E.L.D

Another day, another viral campaign. This time for Thor/The Avengers. You can join Shield, but not until Monday when the countdown ends, allowing for membership to one of the biggest Goverment organizations in the Marvel universe. I'll be all over this, but it's odd that this countdown ends after Kapow's Thor panel and super secret Movie X premiere..... Hmm.......

Thor will be released on April 21st in Australia, 27th April in the UK and May 6th in America.

Marvel Needs More Variant Covers Like This

Artist R. Grampa made this awesome variant cover for Marvel. Personally, I rarely ever buy variant covers, mostly because they just aren't cool enough for the extra cash. Although, if more covers took the approach of giving The Incredible Hulk down-syndrome I'd be all over them.
