Street Fighter V Trailer Leaks, Announced "Exclusive" To PS4 And PC

This past friday, a speculated trailer for Street Fighter V leaked onto the internet via a thread post on NeoGaf. Naturally this alone would be more than enough to send forum followers and fighting game-aficionados into a tizzy, but there was yet one last detail that made "Rise Up" the talk of the day. The fade-in text proclaiming console exclusivity for PS4 and PC! Gasp! could it be true? Could this be the very latest in a series of killing-blows in the arbitrary corporate contest that is the "Console Wars"? Sure looks like it. Check out that tear-jerking, nostalgia-inducing montage trailer above.

Hadouken!

Seriously though, this constant back-and-forth fiefdom of formerly console-agnostic franchises is getting tiresome. More often enough, with the obvious exception of key first-party titles such as Halo, Super Smash Bros. or God of War, you can pretty much bet your bottom dollar that a "console-exclusive" installment in a major series such as Street Fighter or Tomb Raider will trickle their way onto other existing platforms eventually.

Why you might ask? Because video-game development is expensive and developers/publishers need to recoup their losses. It feels as though this trend of semantically-veiled "exclusivity" is only going to become more uniform throughout this console generation. That, or the post-release content for a major title is going to be preferentially rationed between one of the three consoles throughout that game's post-release life-span (e.g. Destiny on PS4).

Okay, enough of my soapbox. Check out more of those killer gameplay screenshots of Ryu and Chun-Li after the break!

Starbomb And Egoraptor Present - The Ken Vs Ryu Rap Battle

Created by Spazinkid for his collab project with Egoraptor and Ninja Sex Party called Starbomb, this animated rap battle between Ryu and Ken is as one sided as it gets. Kind of glad Egoraptor is at least dabbling with animation in between doing some truly bizarre stuff as of late, including his stint on that strange Youtube Dancing show. Starbomb also created that recent Luigi's Ballad, which offered some truly pressing questions regarding Princess Peaches questionable taste in plumbers.

I Am Street Fighter - 25 Years Of Inspiration

25 years of blisters, passion, broken controllers and ruined friendships: Capcom brings us I Am Street Fighter: 25 Years Of Inspiration. A testament to the ultimate fighting game that has been going strong for over two decades now. Street Fighter is the game that set the foundation for the modern fighting game, and it's a franchise as universally recognizable as Star Wars in this day and age.

Fans, developers and pro players recollect about how they first got into the franchise, and the impact that it's had on their lives. Personally, Super Street Fighter IV continues to be the go-to game for stress release after a bad day at work, although I do long for another Capcom VS SNK someday. At over an hour long, it's a true celebration of everything Street Fighter to date.

Street Fighter Sculpted In Motion

Who knew that tracking character motion in Street Fighter would look this awesome?  Using Cinema 4D, Dan The Ad Man has created this unique animation that sculpts the motion of some of Street Fighter's most beloved characters. Seeing the trail of Ryu's Hadouken is by far one of the coolest things I've seen rendered this year.

Imagine what a full match of Street Fighter would look like after using this rendering this process; it would be a beautiful clusterf*ck. Quick, someone at Capcom scoop up this idea, I would pay good money for a feature like this in the next Street Fighter. Sh*t, did I just give Capcom an idea for more DLC? For more of Dan's work and a few stills from the above video, head over to his website here.

This Street Fighter 3 Tribute Is Looking Awesome - Fuurinkazan

Teased sometime last summer by 3D artist Victor Hugo, it looks like we're finally getting the actual Street Fighter 3 short called 'Fuurinkazan,' which stands for 'Wind, Forest, Fire and Mountain,' a mantra based off of Sun Tzu's The Art Of War which stated: 'Move as swift as a wind, stay as silent as forest, attack as fierce as fire, undefeatable defense like a mountain.' Sounds just like Ryu, well rounded in just about every way. The short was close to being canceled last year, but thanks to the rallying of his friends it looks like it'll become a reality after all, with an entire 5 man team working on various facets of the short.

Plotwise, it looks like the heavily stylized short will revolve around Ryu facing off against Street Fighter 3's Zangief equivalent. A teaser poster stated that the short would be out this fall, but there's a possibility that it might come out even sooner. Stay tuned for more updates as they come., we're looking forward to this one! Check out the official poster below.

Tron X Street Fighter - Two Worlds Collide

(Via)
We don't typically feature much along the lines of photo manipulation, but this series by Australian artist Kode was too awesome to pass up. Combining the best faces and art of Street Fighter with a healthy dose of Tron inspired glow treatment and some graphic design flair, Kode has brought the best of two worlds together in this successful mashup series. Check out his takes on Chun Li, Abel, Cammy, Juri, Ryu and C. Viper after the break!

Project Gouken: We Want More

This is one badass, Street Fighter flavored little animation, featuring the work of a talented French Animator called Laurent Rossi, who runs a little blog called L4Draw, and happens to be a student of the fantastic 'Les Gobelins' art school. The short features the hilariously overpowered (In my opinion) Gouken teaching his younger brother, Akuma a lesson. Matt Timms did the awesome FX work that gave all the blows that extra oomph, kudos! My only complaint is...I WANT TO SEE MORE. Mr. Rossi, I demand a 5 minute version with a little more story. This is too awesome to simply be a contained, 15 second short..There's too much potential here. Check out the making of after the break!

Mailman VS Dog Saga By Jorge Gutierrez

This is a three part series that was created by the awesome Jorge Gutierrez (Mexopolis), which aired on that strange MAD TV sketch show on Cartoon Network. What makes these pretty damn awesome is the addition of a little Street Fighter Flavor. The third one in this series is absolutely amazing. Check out the other 2 after the break!  SHORRRYUKEN!

Derezzed In Street Fighter

Even if the new Tron wasn't as great as we were hoping, mixing Street Fighter characters and the electric coloring of the Tron universe looks awesome! Check out BossLogic's deviantART for more.
