Flight Facilities : With You And La Boétie: The Head

Even if Flight Facilities music video might end up reminding you of Daft Punk's Interstella 5555 period, the ambient/disco house sound of this Aussie duo provides the perfect sound for easing into a week. With some retro visuals reminiscent of Matsumoto era anime, the video narrates a scifi tale of forbidden love.



La Boetie is another duo comprised of a female vocalist who spent her childhood traveling the world and a double bassist based out of a Paris and Barcelona. The group, which formed in 2009 is currently working towards putting out their first album, but this music video is a step in the right direction with a taste of things to come. These guys definitely have the potential to become something bigger. Enjoy.

Mikko Vos: Wake Up

Mikko Vos' Wake Up is a perfect elixir for Monday, offering a solid double shot of mechanical, groovy dark beats accompanied with peaceful visuals to get you back into full on work mode. The Amsterdam based artist has a ton more work for you to peruse on his Soundcloud, so get on it!

Denmark's Animation Workshop has unleashed a barrage of excellent short animated films recently, with the biggest buzz being generated by the viral magnet known as Space Stallions. We also featured The Backwater Gospel, which used some unorthodox techniques to create a 2.5D art style that oozed personality and perfectly fit the tone of that town. This fresh short known as 'Load' felt perfect for Monday, with its narrative of a man overburdened by work in a dystopian world setting out on a strange quest to free himself. I really loved the somber tone and how they chose to visually represent the concept of burden, with a man buried in a suit of sticky notes. Can't wait to see what the school puts out next.

Architecture In Helsinki : Contact High

Happy Monday, and welcome to 2012. Lets kick this year off with the Melbourne based group: Architecture In Helsinki's 'Contact High.' The track is and incredibly catchy and upbeat dance floor worthy addition from these guys, and it never got enough love in my opinion. I have no idea why but the protagonist really gave me some heavy American Psycho vibes.

The Ampliefetes: Whizz Kid

Get your Monday going with this awesome single from this Swedish pop-rock outfit known as the Ampliefetes. The four piece rock outfit also delivered an awesome, psychedelic music video to accompany their self described 'intriguing cajun electronica' track. Despite it being two years old, the track never really got enough love in the Western regions. Give it a listen, and check out their debut album!

Little Shalimar: Bad Position

You probably haven't heard of Little Shalimar, so let me do the introductions. In the winter of 2009, the man who goes by the name of Little Shalimar went to LA to work on a project with a producer, who won't be named...Upon arriving to LA this artist was stricken with severe pneumonia, hospitalized and sedated to all hell, at which point he got the idea to write some songs for his EP: "The New Pneumonia." Bad Position is one of the many songs to come out of this period of heavy sedation, and I think its pretty damn awesome. Its groovy, full of kazoo solos, and the perfect picker upper for a bad case of the Mondays...His sound is both classic, and happening at the same time. Check out his website! I think I'm in love.

Trophy Wife: Wolf

Gravity has failed Trophy Wife. The Oxford based group find themselves feeling upside down in this mellow, chill music video which reflects how I typically feel on Mondays. Great sound, and a great track to start your week. And if this is the first time you've heard Trophy Wife, they're up and coming...no doubt about it. Keep an eye out for these guys.

Cubies: Lets Go To Oktoberfest

This amazing little music video was created by Michael Maria Tichy, featuring a pretty insane barrage of pixelated visuals, gameboy chiptunes, beer, robots and lots of livestock. Its not even October yet, but this is an awesome way to start off your Monday.
