Chromeo Returns With A Brand Spanking New Album - "White Women"

Friendly reminder: Chromeo is absolutely amazing. Friendly reminder 2: Chromeo just dropped an amazing new album called 'White Women,' featuring an entirely new barrage of amazing tracks created in collaboration with the likes of LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney, Toro Y Moi, Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and more.

The electro funk duo have been hard at work bringing back the 80's with their slick dance anthems, and after a few listens I get the feeling that this latest album will define the summer of 2014. The amount of variety present in the latest album seems to pay tribute to over 30 years of pop music, with flavors ranging from psychedelic funk of Over Your Shoulder to the more high energy, melodic EDM fueled Jealous. The album dropped everywhere last evening, ranging from Spotify to iTunes with a direct purchase available on their website. Dope.

Haim - "If I Could Change Your Mind"

If you get a familiar vibe while watching Haim's latest and greatest, chalk it up to Warren Fu, who's worked on the last few retro Daft Punk music videos. The faded 70's quality captured in the productions music video gels well with the groups already retro inspired sound. Since their debut last year, the LA based pop rock outfit has been making some amazing waves. I always get vibes of 80's pop bands listening to Haim, but they've always described themselves as more of a 70's soft rock outfit with R&B elements. Enjoy.

Chromeo - "Come Alive"

Chromeo returns with an amazing new electro funk jam, taking a page out of the amazingly cheesy 1987 movie Mannequin, which revolved around a man falling in love with a magical store mannequin. Starring Toro Y Moi's Chaz Bundick as a janitor and Chromeo's very own Dave 1 as a dreamy mall dweller, they both bust out their best moves on a small armada of truly sexy mannequins who come to life. Tracks don't get much catchier than this.

Ssion - Psy-Chic

Ssion's trippy music video for Psy-Chic is a non stop visual bender of rainbow vomit tinged visuals, cute animals and stream of conciousness imagery to accentuate the simplistic synth-pop hook of the track. The video features two polar versions of Ssion facing off in a video that would probably make Tim & Eric blush.

The Amplifetes - You/Me/Evolution

The Swedish quartet known as the Amplifetes delivered this ridiculously catchy track, paired with a rather disturbing music video stuffed to the brim with social commentary. From what I garnered, the track and music video hit on themes of child abuse, insecurity and being molded into something against your will, as evidenced by the soulless look of the child pageant-esque looking protagonist. Upbeat sound, not so upbeat message, but definitely worth playing on repeat a few dozen times. The track is from their upcoming album, 'Where Is The Light,' following their 2010 debut.

The Octopus Project - Whitby

An upbeat sound and soft vocals mixed with eclectic origami themed visuals make up the core of the Octopus' project's excellent debut single from their yet-untitled 2013 album. Created using thousands of photographs cut out of card stock and a ton of stop motion patience, the Austin 'indie-tronica' band's efforts are not in vain, with a track that is awesomely poppy and a visually arresting motion aspect. Full screen this and enjoy, and get the EP over here!

Kali Bris : I Love Your Face

Have you ever listened to a track and instantly realized that a band would be absolutely amazing to see live? Well that's the feeling I got with Kali Bris' synth heavy track, 'I Love Your Face.' The track, which was created by an Estonian pop artist/producer was released with a fantastically cute music video by Chintis Lundgren. The track is part of an album coming out in September called 'Moon Ghost' through Onesensemusic records. I get a feeling that this particular bird is going to get a ton of action tonight. Absolutely love it, and give this guy some love on Facebook!

Make The Girl Dance: Tchiki Tchiki Tchiki

The French electro duo known as Make The Girl Dance just released a new music video for Tchiki Tchiki Tchiki, a great driving tune that has spawned a wave of remixes, warranting an EP. We featured their hilariously disturbing music video for 'Broken Toy Boy' last year, and since then they've released a debut album, dubbed 'Everything Is Going To Be Ok In The End.' Seems like things have worked out well for the group, as they've enjoying a world wide tour over the last few months.

The Ampliefetes: Whizz Kid

Get your Monday going with this awesome single from this Swedish pop-rock outfit known as the Ampliefetes. The four piece rock outfit also delivered an awesome, psychedelic music video to accompany their self described 'intriguing cajun electronica' track. Despite it being two years old, the track never really got enough love in the Western regions. Give it a listen, and check out their debut album!

THE DEVIL'S WORK DUE FOR 2012

I just couldn't pass up the chance to post this new music video for this awesome American/Swedish team up. Unless Greta Garbo, Jake Gyllenhall, Uma Thurman and Matt Damon are cast for the film adaptation of 'At The Mountains of Madness*.'

It's been almost 2 years since Miike Snow's debut album. Expectations were high and this gorgeous video just sets the bar higher for what will be the second studio album of Miike Snow.

The band, composed by Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg and Andrew Wyatt made some of the catchiest tunes of 2009. Will they repeat success before the end of the world in 2012?Some more videos from their previous album after the break!

* All the actors mentioned above have Swedish/American blood .

Burning Man Timelapse-icus Maximus

"What is this? Burning Man for ants?" The author behind this piece, James Cole couldn't have put it better himself. This absolutely amazing 20 minute tilt shift timelapse was captured over the course of this years Burning Man, featuring fantastic music by Elite Force/Distrikt. Really fantastic work, capturing the absolutely insane party vibe of the festival.

Have You Seen My Sister Evelyn?

A wonderful little track wiht a super catchy, upbeat tune that really stands out for its use of nearly retro, Vaudeville-ian sound with contemporary lyrics. The music video, directed by Hoku Uchiyama channels the retro aesthetics of early Disney cartoons like Steamboat Willie in a really unique presentation involving fogged glass. This track has been stuck in my head all day, and I'd like that to be the case with you guys too. I'm a new fan of Evelyn Evelyn, the Washington based duo behind this really unique track.
