The Walking Dead - A Decade Of The Dead

Created as a collab between Hyundai, Future US, Skybound and Initiative, this awesome documentary chronicles the rise of the zombie themed comic into prominence. It's amazing considering it's humble beginnings in 2003 from the mind of writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore as a 'bait and switch pitch' through Image comics, tapping into the zombie fad close to a decade before it started.

Fast forward to 2013 and it's a hit mainstream TV series on AMC with a continuing comic storyline powered by the art talentes of British artist Charlie Adlard and Cliff Rathburn. It's one of those rare cases of everyone involved believing in an indie comic project and seeing it through until that lucky break hurtling it into the public spotlight. I also tend use it as my favorite example of how hyper violence is ok but tasteful nudity isn't on TV.

The Walking Dead Minimalist Posters

(Via)
If you've been following AMC's critically acclaimed zombie drama based off of the equally excellent comics, you might be interested in picking up one of these awesomely minimalist posters created by the Toronto based artist, Ryan McArthur. In his five piece series he's broken key characters down to their most distinguishing elementt or two, from the crossbow wielding Daryl Dixon to the iconic hat of the morally stubborn sheriff, Rick Grimes.

You can get your hands on a print over on Ryan's Etsy, and check out the others after the break!

The Walking Dead: Torn Apart

The dead return just in time for halloween! (Via)
Be prepared; Zombies walk among the living again, because on October 16th the second season of The Walking Dead debuts with a 90-minute episode. Can't wait that long for your Zombie fix? Have a treat from AMC.

In anticipation of the series, AMC has produced and released a special Web series called "Torn Apart," depicting the tragic tale of "Bicycle Girl," who fans will remember from a memorably grim scene in the series' very first episode. If you are American, you can watch this here. Everyone else? Tough luck, we all have to wait together.

I must warn you though; these episodes are extremely NSFW and one of the most depressing things you will see today. I know I'm a crybaby, but this really had me going.

Season 2 Of The Walking Dead Can Have It's Way With Me

The first season of The Walking Dead may or may not have ended on one of the most god-awful notes a television show could end on, but that isn't going to stop me from checking in for season 2. The above trailer was just revealed at San Diego Comic-Con and it's already showcasing some amazing sh*t-your-pants-with-suspense moments. Anyone who's read the comic book series can tell you that show has already gone off into a completely different direction, whether that's a good thing is yet to be decided. Hopefully the second season will answer this question.
