With the clock ticking down on the Skullgirls Indiegogo initiative, as well as the project gaining acceptance within the Japanese fighting community, I thought it would be wise to shed a light on the man behind the visuals of Skullgirls, Alex Ahad.

Serving as a creative director since the inception of the project, Alex brought his distinctly contemporary digital art style to the table, mixing primarily Japanese and Western influences to create a colorful art style that's been a treat since day one. This type of style has proliferated over the last few years thanks to websites like Deviantart and Tumblr, serving as a conduit of inspiration and reference for the ridiculous amounts of up and coming artists out there. From Skullgirls to Street Fighter, Alex has provided his own unique twist on existing franchises and thrown out some truly fun ideas himself. Check out more of his colorful work after the break!
