Vin Diesel will return as Riddick following a decade long hiatus for the franchise, which faltered due to a less than stellar box office performance for it's 2004 sequel, Chronicles Of Riddick. The original director, David Twohy and Vin Diesel will be reuniting for the third entry into the series, simply titled, 'Riddick,' featuring the titular protagonist stranded on a rather unfriendly planet in a rather familiar sounding plot line (Pitch Black, much?).
Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick's past.
Let's see if this movie will manage to reignite interest in the franchise, considering that it's been pretty much dormant since 2004. Check out the first official movie poster after the break.
