"Alien: Isolation" And The Lo-fi Scifi Aesthetic

At this point I'm convinced that the Aliens franchise has been cursed, as the last half dozen videogame adaptations of the franchise have typically been bad at best to absolutely atrocious. Alien: Isolation seems like another attempt to give the series a little justice, taking the retrofuturistic world of the original 1979 feature and adapting it into something a little more in tune with the vision of the original.

My main hopes is that they don't deliver an experience that is 6-8 hours of straight jump scares, hopefully opting for a more subtle, lasting tension that was present in the original feature. While the graphics look nice, a source told us that the current footage is still 'gameplay target' or prerendered footage that captures the mood they want to accomplish. Once October rolls around we'll hopefully get a better idea of how this game will play, but so far we're cautiously optimistic.

Reminder: Project X Zone Is Out Now And It's Awesome

Fans of massive crossovers rejoice, Project X Zone is out now for the 3DS and it's absolutely insane in all the right ways. With over 50 characters from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega games Project X Zone is the most fan service you'll probably ever see from the three. I recently picked it up and I have to say, it's pretty damn amazing, albeit goofy as all hell. There's something incredibly charming about Frank West from Dead Rising team up with Darkstalkers' Hsien-Ko to fight massive demons, especially with how well animated some of their special attacks are.

If you're a fan of JRPGs, in need of some fan service, or just want an insane experience than Project X Zone is definitely worth picking up. It's pretty rare we get to see these crossover games outside of Japan, and now is the best time to show the support they need to localize more. 

Castle of Illusion Remake Teased by Sega

What the hell is going on? Why was I not informed that major publishers were going to start re-releasing my childhood this summer? First we're getting Duck Tales, which is probably one of my first memorable gaming experiences and now Sega is teasing a Summer release for Castle of Illusion as well?

Excuse me while I go cry myself to sleep in a pool of pure joy, I don't think I can handle so much wonderfulness in one Summer. I honestly want to know where this sudden emergence for remaking such incredible classics, it's almost as if publishers are starting to recognize that their original audience is still around. If the recent announcements are anything to base judgements off of, than I can safely say that next-gen is looking pretty damn bright. Keep them coming guys, if we can get a followup with World of Illusion I will literally cry, none of this figurative crap.
