The Official Lego Ghostbusters Set Incoming

(Via)
It was just recently announced on Lego Cuusoo, the blog dedicated to user submitted ideas that the Ghostbusters set will be made commercially available soon. Considering that 2014 is the franchises 30th anniversary (The original film was released in 1984), the folks at Lego are fast tracking this set for release in June 2014 as  #21108 LEGO® Ghostbusters™ with a price point of $49.99. Featuring the Ecto-1 and 4 minifigures of Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and  Winston Zeddmore.

During the Cuusoo selection process, it turns out that there were actually two competing Ghostbuster projects at the same time, but Brent Waller's take ended up meeting the Kickstarter style supporter quota that the website employed. When the set comes out, he'll be entitled to 1% of the royalties from the sales of this set. Check out more shots of this set after the break!

This fun and iconic vehicle from the blockbusting ‘80s movie is fully loaded with all the paranormal detection equipment needed to track down those ghastly ghosts. It also features cool Ghostbusters logo decoration, removable roof, tracking computer and seats for 3 minifigures.

Advanced Ghostbusters By Faust

(Via)
Frederic Le Martelot (Aka Faust) sent us this awesome little pet project he did called Advanced Ghostbusters, which put him in the art director's seat for a fictional Ghostbusters reboot (Whatever happened to that 3rd installment?). Frederic concepted up all the gear in a typical busters arsenal, including proton packs, P.K.E. meter, ghost trap, particle thrower and outfits, complete with a modern twist. These types of exercises are great in a portfolio, as they showcase an individuals ability to come up with new visual solutions without experience in the movie industry (A field I'm guessing he's aiming for with this).

Using a mixture of photobashing, paintovers and some pretty slick presentation, Advanced Ghostbusters is something I'd like to see (Minus that Hummer Ectomobile). Check out more of Frederic's work on Advanced Ghostbusters after the break!

Ghostbusters 3 News At Last!

(Via)
The Licensing International Expo, currently running in Las Vegas, has been a plethora of minor news tidbits and first looks (Including the Dark Knight Rises (Coming soon, FYI...) and the new Zack Synder Superman film) currently driving the internet crazy.

The one that is driving the internet crazy? Thats right, GHOSTBUSTERS 3! A blog called Toys & Gadgets is running an image grab (see above) from what looks like an official Sony press release from the Licensing International Expo currently running in Las Vegas, which states that Ghosterbusters 3 will be arriving in 2013!

Is it finally on it's way? Will we see a trailer soon? Will I ever get Ghostbusters 2 on Bluray? Time will tell...

Finally, A Ghostbusters Proton Pack Backpack

Oh my god. Finally, the Ghostbusters related product I've been waiting on for years finally comes out. It seemed like such a straight forward idea. Slap the proton pack design onto a backpack, and make millions. But as a plus, these guys even added one of the blasting wands as a detachable carrier for miscellaneous items. You can get one of these Ghostbusters Proton Packs at Amazon for a cool $30, and make it publically known that you aint afraid of no ghost.
