The Amazing Spider-Man Concept Art by Fabian Lacey

(Via)
Today marks the release of Amazing Spider-Man 700, and whilst the comic marks the end of an era and the final moments of Peter Parker (for the next few months, at least) I thought I would celebrate it by showcasing some concept art of the film based on the world famous franchise. Fabian Lacey has done a number of pieces of stunning pieces for a variety of films, including Tron Legacy, Green Lantern & Star Trek. These paintings revolve around the Lizard & the battle on the bridge as Spider-Man attempts to reduce collateral damage in an ongoing battle.

Whilst the scene in the film wasn't this dramatic, the pieces showcase the type of production art required to flesh out scenes. Check out the rest of the pieces after the break!

Spider-Man Goes To The End Of The Earth With Brand New Costume

The new-look Spider-Man? (Via)
It's been a tease-tastic time for Spider-Man fans this month. From issue 682, Peter Parker will be fighting The Sinister Six, led by the vengeful Doctor Octopus who are back and looking for revenge! Doctor Octopus is dying and this could well be his last attempt at defeating his long time nemesis and one time almost-son-in-law.

Dan Slott promises an amazing saga with beautiful art by Stefano Caselli and the saga will begin 21st March 2012. However, Marvel has been releasing teasers of the forthcoming saga and they've been intriguing with a hint of strange. Spider-man has a new costume, but is it permanent or a one-time suit we'll never see again? It seems very ninja like and in the comics Peter has been learning the skill.

See the teasers after the break and let us know what you think!

Amazing Spider-Man Video Game Concept Art

The trains just couldn't run on time in NYC....Spider-man needed liberties (Via)

The Activision-owned studio, Beenox, responsible for "Spider-Man: Shattered Dimension" and "Spider-Man: Edge of Time" have released, through their studio head Dee Brown's Twitter feed, three pieces of concept art for their upcoming game which will tie-in to Columbia Pictures' The Amazing Spider-Man. A while back we were shown amazing footage of the game that was made using completely in-game footage. Whilst this game is looking promising (and beautiful), I just completed Edge of Time and I have to say I was left very disappointed. I'm hoping they learnt from the mistakes and take what made EOT a good game and take away what made it subpar.

But either way, like all concept art, it looks beautiful. It's worth checking up and there is two more for your viewing pleasures after the jump.

Amazing Spider-Man Video Game Footage Is Amazing

Takes me back. 2004 had two big Spider-man releases. Spider-Man two, by Sam Raimi, changed peoples views on how serious a comic-book movie could be without alienating a casual audience. The movie still remains one of the greatest super-hero movies of all time. And it had one of the best comic book video games ever. Before Arkham Asylum we had Spider-man 2, and we loved it. I still play it monthly because this game was revolutionary. But now? Looks like it has been replaced.

This game is based off the brand new Amazing Spider-Man film, and the footage shown is rendered IN-GAME. I can tell you that whilst some of the shine has been added post game-play, it's completely possible. And it looks so good that my anti-super-hero-outside-of-green-lantern video-game rule has just been broken. So please don't disappoint me Spider-man!

Comic-Con 11: The Lizard Arrested, And Not By Spider-Man.

(Via)
So yesterday the Lizard finally got confirmed as the villain of the blockbuster The Amazing Spider-Man during it's Comic-Con panel. And that he is, indeed, is being played by Rhys Ifans. But Rhys was also supposed to be in a weird mood during yesterday's big Spider-man panel in Hall H. It just came out why he was so closed, and the truth is more horrifying than anything that Spider-Man 3 could show.

Amazing Spider Man Trailer Drops

The somewhat anticipated trailer for Amazing Spider Man just dropped a few hours ago, giving us a good look at this new reboot featuring Andrew Garfield as Spider Man. It looks good and all, but god does it feel a little too familiar. It just feels like I'm watching an alternate dimension trailer to the Tobey Maguire Spider Man back in 2002...Which begs the question..When is it too soon for a reboot? I really felt like the first Spider Man was pretty damn decent, why the need to remake something that wasn't broken to begin with? I just hope that the director (Marc Webb) does enough differently with Amazing Spider Man to help it stand out from the shadow of its predecessor. Time will tell.
