The Art Of Eric Kirchmer: What Gives?

Eric Kirchmer has been with Valve since 2001, working as a 3d modeler/visual designer on projects including Half Life 2, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Portal and a plethora of other projects. However, some new images recently popped up in his portfolio, featuring a mysterious game that from what I can tell, has never been announced let alone even teased.

The game, simply titled "Working Title" features retro/70's aesthetics mixed with some kind of alien infestation motif, kind of like the original Alien. At first I though it might have been Alien Swarm...but judging from the deeply futuristic aesthetics of the final product, this just might be something completely different.
