I have a feeling that Deus Ex: Human Revolution might end up having an amazing story, based off all this backstory related content created with really solid live action, no less. This latest video focuses around the work of Purity First, a group that is fighting to uncover the more sinister intentions that corporations monopolizing the human augmentation market might have. There are also undercurrents of a future in which everyone needs to augment their bodies with implants and cyborg parts in order to stay competitive...A forced hybridization driven by the corporations in order to create a reliance on their product.
Its an interesting scenario to ponder...Seeing how some corporations act in this day and age, with their ruthless tactics for maximizing profit, is this that far off from what might happen when cyborg augmentations are possible? And what about the Big Brother tactics, like being able to turn off peoples implants, mind control people, track their movements without their knowledge (Apple comes to mind) and other awful abuses of power. The video is a genuinely unsettling look at what might happen decades from now, if our technology ever gets to that point. I'm really looking forward to giving this cyberpunk adventure a spin.
