The Bane Outtakes

Considering that Bane's mouth was covered, it was only a matter of time before he got the dubbed treatment. Prepare for a lot of discussion about breakfast, fiber and the benefits of fresh strawberries.

Dark Knight Call Me Maybe Parodies

The stars and planets have aligned, the partners at Youtube used their viral video idea generating manatees and as a result we got a total of three, I repeat THREE damn Call Me Maybe/Dark Knight parodies in the last few weeks. There's probably many more attempts at this concept lurking in the darkest recesses of Youtube, but I dare not venture into those depths.

Out of the three my favorite was definitely the one featuring Robin/Nightwing as the main protagonist, but that's not saying much. If you're looking for more Catwoman and undead Heath Ledger flavored versions, check out the other two versions after the break

Anatomy Of An IMAX Theater - The Dark Knight Rises

The buzz is at deafening levels, the anticipation palpable. With only a week or two left, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises is almost upon us. The film has become one of the most anticipated films of this summer, with theaters selling out of tickets weeks in advance. However, have you ever thought about the work that goes into simply screening a movie? Most people at this point are probably aware of the effort that goes into movie production, yet the screening process, especially when it comes to a cinema as complex as a full IMAX theater, is something that I've never had a chance to learn about.

This behind the scenes video goes itno the process of preparing a film at an IMAX theater, as the crew prepares the projector system in the Liberty Science Center in New Jersey, which is set to become one of the biggest North America IMAX screens at 88 feet. The Dark Knight Rises will be the first major Hollywood release to premiere at the Center thanks to Christopher Nolan's insistence on filming in a non-digital format. Are you ready for the Dark Knight? Well, if you want the true Batman experience it definitely looks like New Jersey will be the place to be.

The Dark Knight Rises Gets Some Amazing Fan Posters

(Via)
Have you ever looked at an artist's work and thought "Hire that man/woman, major movie studios!" We feature a large amount of great independent artists on this blog that have a better idea of what the fans want then the studios. This is the case for Messenjah Matt, an artists I stumbled upon recently. He has a number of posters and designs that he has made for fun and use on forums, websites and other such mediums. He has recently finished a set of Dark Knight Rises posters that really put some of the official posters to shame. Check out the collection after the cut because it might just help for the torturous wait until the film is released.

The Dark Knight Rises Posters Are....Cinematically Stunning

Holy Cinematic Batman! (Via)
The Batman promo items have been flowing like wine this week! Though the last couple of Dark Knight Rises posters have been pretty lackluster, with the last poster being one of the worst poster rehashes I've ever seen, this set of four promotional posters show the true cinematic style and scope of the film. I honestly thought that Warner may have hired some of the worst designers in the history of film advertising; what a difference 24 hours can make.

The story certainly seems to be taking elements from the Knightfall storyline (involving a mass Arkham breakout by Bane to wear Batman down before famously breaking his back) and the Contagion storyline (where two factions & Batman fight over a destroyed Gotham, hit by a lethal disease). It feels like such a long wait for the film but it's going to be worth it. Whatever doesn't kill us just makes us.....stranger. Check out the collection after the jump.

The Dark Knight Will Rise..Literally

Giovanni Francesco as Batman (Via)
It's been a while since I've reported on the current trend of "Adult Parodies" of famous blockbusters, but when one looks JUST as good as the million dollar Hollywood production? The fact that Axel Braun has created a parody adult film that looks better than the Schumacher Batman films (the awful Batman Forever/Batman & Robin films) is a testament to both his love of girls and comic-books. The Dark Knight Rises adult parody will get a trailer in the next few weeks, and I'll be sure to share it..If its tasteful.

In the meantime,  check out the amazing SFW costume shots after the break. They definitely put a ton of effort into the costuming, although you might be left wondering how this doesn't fall into some very obvious lawsuit territory.

Dark Knight Rises Gets A Fresh Trailer

Seems like this week will be memorable for its steady stream of excellent trailers. Dark Knight Official Trailer #3, aka the trailer that will premiere in theaters before The Avengers this Friday. This newest teaser offers some very interesting points about the tangled web that ties Catwoman, Bane and the Dark Knight together, including an interesting snippet showcasing Bruce Wayne as a captive of Bane. After watching the trailer a few times, it also turns out that Bane's voice sounds like it might have been altered in post to be a little clearer.

I found it rather humorous that WB chose to premiere this DC property prior to Marvel's Avengers, as its sparked some incredible rage between the different comic fandoms. I guess a little passion never hurt anyone, but I'm going to bet that Nolan's finale to the Dark Knight series might just end up being a little more memorable.

Attack Of The Batmobiles : The Purpose

A few images featuring all the Batmobiles from every incarnation of the series in one place have been circulating recently. What I assumed was a meeting of some collectors with some seriously deep pockets turned out to be an event organized by WB on March 30th, 2012 to shoot some bonus footage for the Dark Knight Rises Bluray release, whenever that's going to happen.

Josh Turchetta, an avid movie vehicle fan (Judging from his other videos) shot this up close and personal footage, showcasing Batmobiles going all the way back to the Adam West version of Batman. Check out a bonus video of an incredible replica of the Ghostbusters Ecto1 from Josh after the break!

Bane Meets The Conan Knight

Personally I could understand every word Bane said in The Dark Knight Rises footage. Conan O'Brien, however, could not. Not even Batman could understand. So as a result, the Conan Knight raises his mighty cape and swings back into the night with another amazing glebidi gloo.

The Dark Knight Rises: Sweded

I think Sweding is the best new video meme to pop up over the last year or two. For those unaware, Sweding involves taking trailers and recreating them with zero budget..With often hilarious results. This Dark Knight Rises trailer is the best one yet, and they even improved on the original! I can actually understand what Bane is saying, compared to the mumbling, muffled mess in the actual trailer. Check out the original trailer after the break!

So It Begins: Dark Knight Rises Viral Campaign Begins

(Via)
The Dark Knight had one of the greatest and most expansive viral/Alternate reality game campaigns in the history of advertising. We were all waiting for it to begin again, and it looks like the viral campaign is about to spread.

Wired posted a fake CIA memo about Dr. Leonid Pavel (who is played in TDKR by Israeli actor Alon Abutbul), a missing Russian nuclear physicist last seen in the Chelyabinsk region. Empire Online also posted a fake CIA memo, which can be seen after the jump, about a interrogation between a CIA station chief and a militia member regarding the whereabouts of Dr. Pavel. Looks like Dr. Pavel will be a large part of this movie and campaign...

The Dark Knight Rises All Over Empire

One last time....(Via)
As an Empire subscriber, I get all sorts of cool movie promo items through the magazine. This month? I got a special edition cover that blew me away, and an article which gave an exclusive look at the new Batman film with all kinds of new information, details and confirmations. Want to know why Bane has the mask? I won't spoil it just yet, so go pick up an issue. I'm going to frame this special edition and hang it on my wall.

Christian Bale's Dark Knight In The Form Of A 1960's Batman

The Dark Knight Rises is going to be a huge film. Happy Dragon Pictures has seen the movie and imagined the question I think we have all asked: What if Christopher Nolan was around in the 1960's and only had Adam West, limited animation, and the greatest theme song to be heard by human ears? Well, I think you can hear the results right above. If this doesn't increase your anticipation of the film, I don't know what will!

The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Leaks Surface

It was only a matter of time before set pictures began to surface, and that time has finally arrived. These photos by Jared Winslow are from the set of The Dark Knight Rises, all of which can be seen after the break. There's possible spoilers after the break, one of which may be bigger than the rest(which I've conveniently saved for last).

Hit the jump for the images in all their high-quality glory. That and prepare for speculations!

Frodesign Dark Knight Rises Poster

(Via)
Frodesign does some AMAZING simplistic art. Recently, they've made a few Batman posters I'm sure you guys will love. See the Bane inspired poster above, and the Catwomen poster after the jump. Both will be on sale in limited amount via the official site at an undetermined time. Hope I can afford one when the time comes around.

Batman Begins, Falls And Rises Again

The wait for the Dark Knight is torture. But this poster? It's beautiful, and fitting that all 3 posters can fit together seamlessly and still be pretty amazing. The evolution of the Dark Knight has been very interesting to follow so far.

This movie couldn't come out fast enough!

The Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster Revealed

Batman returns.
While The Dark Knight Rises is a year away, we're already being teased, implying a long and painful year-long wait. On first glance I didn't notice the bat-symbol in the skyline, but now that I've noticed it, I've started to notice more. I can't help but try to decide if the rubble is falling down or pulling an Inception and falling up (or rising HA). If the city is falling, are we going to see an overthrown Gotham, possibly run by Ra's al Ghul and gang? Good thing we have a year to speculate... Goddammit.

Earlier last week rumors arose that a teaser poster and trailer would be revealed this week, and for once those rumors seem to be coming true. With San Diego Comic-Con right around the corner, expect some big news in the coming days. Hit the jump for a larger version of the poster.

Fake Dark Knight Rises Trailer Is Fake (But Still Really Cool)

Is this the most elaborate The Dark Knight Rises fake we’ve seen in some time? It's supposed to be a short teaser for The Dark Knight Rises, the last of the Nolan Batman films. People fall for it (And who can blame them? It does look pretty official) but has been debunked as fake.
I still think it's worth a watch because it's actually pretty chilling how great this short trailer is.

So, whilst we wait for some more information or a official trailer.....here is the fake trailer for the most anticipated film of next year.

The Dark Knight Rises: Catwoman Reveal?

Take this with a grain of salt, but Aintitcool just posted this image of Catwoman. Personally, I feel it looks WAY to fake and unprofessional compared to the Bane Picture, and is a really amateur costume. So I'm 100% sure it is fake. But I'm not the fashion police, so I thought I would post it here out of interest. If this is the official reveal, they've gone more towards her modern costume which is fantastic, compared to the Catgirl costume.

But if the dust settles, and this is the official reveal.....how do you feel about Selina Kyle's costume? Will Anne Hathaway make a good Catwoman?

The Dark Knight Rises: Bane

The Dark Knight Rises viral campaign begins, and we at Awesome-Robo will be on top of it, with all of us communing to play. But here is the first picture of Tom Hardy as Bane. Excuse me whilst I clean myself off.
