Shows that We're Glad Never Made It #3: Aquaman

In celebration loss of Smallville, I thought I would post another disaster interesting look into another "teen audience" reboot show of a famous DC Superhero: Aquaman.

Written by Smallville creators Miles Gough and Alfred Millar, for The WB's 2006 fall TV season, the show starred Justin Hartley, who would go on to play Green Arrow in Smallville. Hartley starred as Arthur A.C. Curry, working with Ving Rhames and Lou Diamond Phillips in their fight to save the oceans. Had the series been picked up, we would have seen A.C. take on such Captain Planet-y threats as ocean polluters and evil oil companies. Sounds entertaining! Kill me now.

The pilot never aired, but if you REALLY want to check it out, it did get its day on iTunes in July 2006, where it became the most downloaded TV show at the time. But you really must hate yourself and Aquaman. Poor guy, can't ANYONE treat him right?

THAT'S RIGHT FOLKS. We are through the looking glass. We are talking about a Clerks TV Show. NO, I'm not talking about the amazing Animated Series that Kevin Smith produced. I am talking about a Sitcom produced by Disney and Buena Vista Entertainment in 1995 without the permission of Kevin Smith.

I'm not kidding when I post this blog, because most people think this thing was a joke. Some think of it as an Urban Legend that doesn't exist. But unlike most Urban Legends, it remains one of the most notorious moves in television history: Clerks, the sitcom. Read more about it after the cut:

Shows That We're Glad Never Made It #1

So, as part of a series, I present an article on a series you'll be glad never made it off the ground. The first one is a cartoon involving a caped crusader going through life, trying to grow up with the many issues in life.

We all go through incredible changes as teenagers: growth spurts, bad skin, a sudden insatiable need to uphold justice and avenge your murdered parents…. Well, that is if you're Bruce Wayne.
As if being a freshman at Gotham High wasn't tough enough, Bruce's insomnia and technological fascinations are taking their toll. Instead of spending his time studying, he has begun to obsess over an emerging personality trait: Batman. But under the watchful eye of his guardian and steward, Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce is forced to put his intelligence to good use: graduating high school. But given his classmates, can Bruce survive Gotham High?








This could have been an OK series if done right, but the art puts me off. I just don't think this show would have EVER worked. But maybe that's why I don't write pilots.
