Barkley 2 Is Amazing Looking (First Gameplay Footage)

If you've never played Barkley Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, you need to get on that immediately. The super ridiculous post-apocalyptic RPG staring Charles Barkley was an absolute hit with the internet, but the devs over at Tales of Game's Studios aren't done yet. Following up the cult-classic, the studio launched a Kickstarter for Barkley 2 which more than tripled their initial goal. Over 8 months have passed since the Kickstarter goal was met, and as we get closer to the release and it's appearance at PAX Prime's Indie MegaBooth we're finally being treated with some sexy gameplay.

No more is the game's turn-based RPG gameplay, instead combat has been replaced with a top-down action-RPG style. The game looks absolutely incredible, and the improvements over the original are ridiculous for such a small team. I've been looking forward to Barkley 2 since it was first announced, but this just hyped me up even more. 2014 can't come soon enough.

Grand Theft Auto V Gameplay Trailer Is Looking Hot

There's not much I can really say after this comprehensive first impression other than, 'holy sh*t.' I can't even begin to comprehend how amazing this game looks from an open-world standpoint, there's so much to do! It's pretty incredibly the work Rockstar Games has put into this game, and seeing that they managed to fit all this on current-gen consoles is even more impressive. With the inclusion of the previous cinematic trailers, Grand Theft Auto V is looking to be Rockstars magnum opus for this generation (or at least until their next game is announced).

While Grand Theft Auto IV felt more like a neutered version of it's massive Playstation 2 predecessor (San Andreas) in terms of scope and activities possible in the open world, Grand Theft Auto V represents a true return to form with a sprawling open world and a narrative evolution in the form of three storylines playing out simultaneously. Throw that in with what looks to be like a massive overhaul of the multiplayer system, and it looks like this title might shape up to be one of those titles that this entire generation of consoles has been working towards. Color us excited.

Pax East Indie MEGABOOTH Trailer

By far the best part of PAX for myself is the convention's Indie Megabooth. The Indie Megabooth gives independent developers the ability to showcase their work to the gaming community, giving an incredible amount of exposure. With PAX East a little over a week away, we've been treated with a trailer showcasing this years lineup and I must say, it's looking pretty sexy.

While I'm not able to make it to East this year, if you're planing on attending I can't recommend checking out the booth enough. I don't believe there has ever been a year where an indie game didn't take my pick for game of the expo. There's some definite contenders basing off the games that have already been shown in the past (Don't Starve, I'm looking at you).

Saints Row The Third: Looking Kickass

Volition just recently dropped this fresh gameplay walkthrough of their Saints Row The Third gameplay, and in my opinion its got everything going for it. Seriously..this video is seven minutes of gameplay with an emphasis on nothing but fun. The game doesn't take itself seriously, and I could give a damn less. This game is being built from the ground up to be a polished, rewarding and fun experience..Taking all the funnest elements of Grand Theft Auto and cranking them up to 11. Not a bad thing if you ask me, I kind of felt like that last GTA took itself way too seriously and abandoned all the over the top aspects that I really enjoyed.

For starters, you start off at the top of your game already, having had the last two games to build up a brand and reputation. In this world, you're recognized for being a baron of violence and mayhem. The Luchador that gets shown in the trailer has wrestling themed takedowns to accompany his flavor, and then sh** just gets crazy. Dildo weaponry? Vertical take off aircraft with microwave lasers? Fursuits? Airstrike guns? YEP! And to wrap it up, a pedestrian catapult. And what they showed is nothing but a tiny piece of the game. Make this game a day one purchase for me. And if you haven't seen the amazing intro trailer that we covered a while back, do it here!
