Bottom of the 9th Animated Comic Looks Awesome

I think the idea has been thrown around for years, 'Wouldn't it be cool if comic books were animated?' This concept has resulted in a variety of different attempts, mainly resulting in comic books being turned into crudely animated 'motion comic books' with sound effects and music. However, it wasn't quite the same as having a comic book in your hand and being able to flip through the pages.

Ryan Wood's new attempt will be bringing his futuristic baseball drama to the iPad, with some truly beautiful, fluid animation and a fully fleshed out story ranging over multiple apps in the years to come. And you know what? The prologue comic will cost a mere 99 cents, so if you're an owner of an Apple tablet be sure to support his efforts. You can find out more info about the upcoming comic on his website, Bottom Of The Ninth.

Hey Geronimo: Why Don't We Do Something?

Hey Geronimo' upbeats new pop rock track about doing something involves a plethora of awesome smartphone game reenactments including Angry Birds, Plants Vs Zombies, Fuirt Ninjas and a few other ridiculously addictive games. The Aussie band will be debuting their first album sometime next year, which I'm personally looking forward to. What more to say other than, 'Perfect!'

Ready Steady Bang: 30 Ways To Kil A Cowboy

Ed Barrett created this playful set of animations for possible cowboy deaths in his iPhone game, Ready Steady Bang. The art style is as simple as the concept, a quick fire duel game relying on speed and an itchy trigger finger. Love the style, and its already available on the app store for one buck! Check it out.

Tiny Wings Is Adorably Addicting

I'm a huge fan of finding new Apps for my iTouch (that's right I don't have an iPhone). Sifting through loads of App Store shit is half the fun, especially when you stumble upon something amazing. That's were Tiny Wings comes into play. This game is goddamn addicting, seriously -- get it now! (And it has birds for you Angry Birds enthusiasts.)

Instead of repeating what the video shows I'll sum it up: you play as a bird with tiny wings, wings so small you're worthless and can't fly. Instead, you slide down Dr. Seuss-inspired hills to launch yourself into the sky, only to painfully fall back to the ground, ultimately breaking your tiny bird legs.

The game is a blast and it's only $0.99. I've already put a couple hours into the game and it hasn't become a bore, especially with the continually-changing scenery.

Starfox, Paper Mario, Mario Kart On The 3DS

This footage was recorded at the 2011 Nintendo World Event.  Its interesting to see that Nintendo has decided to update various classics for the launch rather than go with updates or more original IP's(Like Kid Icarus) for the February launch of the Japanese Nintendo DS.

Starfox 3ds is an update from the N64 days, Paper Mario is the same, only Mario Kart looks like a Gamecube-gen worthy title.  Color us excited if they don't cost $50 a pop.

Minecraft Beta Arrives

So, like most people on the internet, I have become addicted to the game Minecraft. Well, there is even more reason for me never to leave the house again, the Beta has arrived!

This means slowly over the next few months, we will get major updates to the gameplay, graphics and the fun that you can have playing the game. And if you aren't playing the game......what's the excuse?

You can have some major fun not only playing the single player, but creating masterpieces in the Multiplayer. So raise your glasses, and I shall see you on the Mega64ums server, where I spend most of my time (184.168.113.157, and if you play, you can donate for the upkeep of the server at geoffmendicino@yahoo.com on Paypal, because Server Upkeep isn't cheap sirs!), where I hope we can create some amazing art and have some major fun.

Batman: Arkham City Teaser

Arkham Asylum, as a comic fan and self proclaimed nerd, was one of the greatest games I played 2009. This trailer is so awesome that I just couldn't wait for tomorrow to post it, I had to share it, since IT LOOKS SO COOL.
