Quentin Tarantino And The Power Of Food

If you're familiar with Quentin Tarantino movies, you might have noticed that key scenes tend to revolve around the consumption of food. If you've ever wondered why that scene of Kurt Russell stuffing nachos in his face in Deathproof was about, or Samuel Jackson's infamous burger scene in Pulp Fiction actually meant, check out this interview with the director regarding the subject. Pretty awesome insights into some choices made on Django: Unchained especially.

Django Unchained Trailer

After 2009's Inglourious Bastards, Quentin Tarantino is back in the director's chair for his Civil War era film, Django Unchained. The title character, Django (pronounced Jango... "the D is silent") is a slave who's freed and becomes a bounty hunter. Helping his mentor, he seeks out a plantation owner who has his wife captive. The cast is rounded out by Jamie Foxx and Leonardo DiCaprio, among others. I think I'm due for another good Western, and from the looks of the trailer, Tarantino may be the man for the job. We'll find out this winter!

Everything Is A Remix: Kill Bill

Everything Is A Remix: KILL BILL

A fun analysis of all the pop culture bits that influenced and ultimately defined Kill Bill. Quentin Tarantino took all the bits of movies he loved and injected them into the flick as an awesome tribute. A good quote to keep in mind here is what Picasso once said: "Good artists borrow, great artists steal."

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair's Poster Is Bloody Amazing

As you may or may not know, yesterday (March 27th) was Quentin Tarantino's 48th birthday. To celebrate the acclaimed filmmakers day of birthing, Tarantino screened both Kill Bill movies in their intended entirety, titled Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. In conjunction with the full release, artist Tyler Stout created this amazing alternative movie poster to be sold (nearly) exclusively at the screening. It's f***ing brilliant, and once again I'm foaming at the mouth for one. I might do anything for a copy.

Luckily, 600 of the limited posters were made and it's rumored only about 100 were sold at the event. Later this week the rest will be selling over at Mondo for $50. You can follow @MondoNews to get an update on the selling date for these. Also, I take back the "do anything for a copy" comment, I almost forgot I was on the internet. (via /Film)
