The Art of Bastien Grivet

(Via)

With a masterful understanding of environment composition and color harmony, not to mention an impressive list of clients including Activision, Warner Bros., Applibot and Blur Studios, Bastien Grivet has one hell of a portfolio.

His work features a strong balance between the elements of both concept art and graphic design; Abstract silhouettes set against more tantalizingly intricate backdrops. Futuristic opera houses, rampaging kaiju, and robotic aristocrats. Check out more of his awesome work after the break!

The Art Of Pacific Rim - Japanese Fanart Edition

(Via)
I'd always been pretty curious about how Japan, especially their creative community would react to Pacific Rim, a movie that was a whole-hearted ode to various pop culture genres like Kaiju films and various 'Tokusatsu' (Special effects) genres that their cinema scene popularized with internationally acclaimed franchises like Godzilla.

Just recently we set out to see if Japanese artists had taken a liking to the various Jaegers, especially after stumbling into box office figures for overseas sales of the film, which did pretty amazing in Asian markets. What we found was a plethora of amazing tribute pieces executed in a variety of styles and interpretations of both the Kaiju and Jaegers alike, showing that the movie had definitely found it's place with artists abroad. Check out a ton more Pacific Rim fanart pieces of the break!

The Art of Kakotomirai Has A Massive Sense Of Scale

(Via)
I first ran into Kakotomirai's work during an intense Pacific Rim binge a few months back and was lucky to stumble upon it once more. While the focus of Kakotomirai's massive creature design is front and center, the attention to detail on the surrounding environment and capturing that sense of atmospheric perspective creates an astounding, believable sense of scale.

Each of Kakotomirai's creatures has an otherworldly organic feel, at times feeling like a creature pulled straight out of a Studio Ghibli film. Check out some Kakotomoirai's creature design after the break.

The Art Of YongSub Noh

(Via)
Giants seem to be all the rage nowadays. With the fantastic Attack on Titan and Guillermo del Toro's masterful Kaiju film Pacific Rim there certainly isn't a shortage. While both works do their part at creating some incredible scale, YongSub Noh has perfected the craft, offering some incredibly perspectives and beautiful creatures.

Each of YongSub's pieces creates an incredible dynamic with the creatures of his world and the environments the inhabit. The design of both the giants and the environments is absolutely phenomenal and sits with the best of the giants. After the break are nine more incredible pieces for you to gawk at.
