The Wachowski's Return With "Jupiter Ascending"

WB just debuted the first trailer for Jupiter Ascending, a new original scifi feature starring Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum and Sean Bean embroiled in an interplanetary conspiracy. The plot revolves around the 'Queen of the Universe' marking a rather inconspicuous human (Kunis) for death after finding out that her existence poses a threat to her reign.

Following the lukewarm Cloud Atlas, which suffered from (Dare I say it) simply being too ambitious a plot for one installment and the still lingering Matrix sequel aftertaste, I'd stay cautiously optimistic. The optimism comes from the fact that there's still a dire need for a legitimately good original scifi feature to get that trend kickstarted again following the somewhat disappointing Elysium and Oblivion features this year. Here's to hoping.
