Directed by Carl Addy of The Mill collective, We Are Shining gets my vote for the most bizarre, eclectic music video of the year so far. It's flipping mesmerizing, presented as a series of rapidly alternating, gif like vignettes extracted from pop culture and history that represent the bands influences, as well as presenting a loose narrative regarding a man being assaulted by modern culture before becoming witness to the end of the world.
The fresh UK based band, consisting of Arcyde and Morgan Zarate has a very distinct sound, channeling a 60's era vocally driven tribal/psychedelic essence with beats reminiscent of hip hop. The track is taken from their upcoming titular debut, which is expected to drop sometime in 2014. Enjoy this visual overload.
