Following a full day of takedown notices on anyone who dared post it to Youtube, the teaser for the 2014 attempt to reboot Godzilla is here. Using the infamous 'Now I am become death, destroyer of worlds' Robert Oppenheimer quote from the Bhagavad Vita, we are given a small peek at the king of monsters, the one that started an entire craze for giant monsters internationally.
With an unproven director on helm (Gareth Edwards) and a hodge podge cast of screenplay writers attached to the project, it's best to keep expectations a little tempered. However, I really don't think there's a chance in hell that this will be worse than that awful, awful 1998 version. Let's wait and see whether this turns out to simply be a forgettable popcorn flick or a proper adaptation of the Japanese franchise.
