Independent illustrator Kana Ohtsuki embarked on a journey sometime in the last few years, a journey that has been the quintessential form of self expression for artists over the generations: The self portrait series. Over the course of the last few years Kana has created dozens of self portraits of herself in an acrylic medium, visualizing herself in a way that reflected her state of mind at that time.

In an attempt to diversify her numerous attempts, this has only lead her down the path of abstraction and surrealism, with her later attempts featuring visual additions left open for interpretation, which you can check out after the break.
