Created by Kristin Kemper over the course of her 4th year as her thesis film at the School Of Visual Arts in New York, High Tide is a narrative tied together by all of her favorite things: Merpeople, school children with magical secrets, the color aqua and hermit crabs. When a girl makes a startling discovery in the beach outside her school, the least likely person turns out to be the most supportive of the fantastical encounter. It's a chipper, straight forward short with a sketchy line style reminiscent of Sylvain Chomet's The Triplets Of Belleville.
