Avian Inspired Quadrotor Snatcher - Coming Soon To A Dystopian Future Near You

Created by the GRASP Lab over at the University Of Pennsylvania, a team of four engineers managed to create a rather precise, eagle inspired mechanism for micro UAV's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). As presented in the video, this would allow UAV's to fly down and snatch up targets on command with a great deal of precision.

As cool as it is on paper, you have to consider that the research that has gone into these quadrotor UAV's will inevitably be scaled up to be combat/recon ready sometime in the future (Like the DARPA Mule project). It's a little bit disconcerting to think that these creations will be roaming the skies someday as military instruments, time will tell how these end up being applied to practical use.
