Alone In The Zone : Living In Fukushima

Now for your dose of the surreal. Two years after the devastating Fukushima meltdown triggered by the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on the 11th of March, 2011, one farmer named Naoto Matsumura still resides in the fallout zone to tend to his animals. Braving high radiation, isolation and public scrutiny, he offers his take on the strange life he's chosen to lead.

The documentary also offers the perspective of a farmer forced to leave his land and livelihood behind, and his rather harsh views on the governments hands off policy, TEPCO's refusal to clean up the radiation. Regardless, both men have some truly interesting stories about what went down in their hometown of Tomioka.
