I'm really glad I managed to track down the Canadian artist known as Roboto-Kun, aka Robert Kim. I recall seeing his really awesome, painterly Megaman piece while browsing the Megaman tribute book that came out a while back. After tracking him back to Deviantart, I found a pretty awesome gallery of work that really reminded me of Ashley Wood's ultra brushy, painterly style. But with even more color and less of a reliance on limited palettes. Really amazing work, and I'm surprised I hadn't seen his work earlier.
