The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space, to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the universe. As part of the Digital Universe Atlas that was maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History, this was available for viewing in May 2010 in 3D. As if 2D didn't weird me out enough. I have no idea if it is still available for viewing now, but I would rather not know, for one reason and one reason only.
I hate feeling this small!
