Funnest Looking Of E3: Saints Row The Third

You know, I never thought I'd mention that anything Saints Row related as one of my favorite titles of E3, but everything I managed to see about this game just took me back the height of Grand Theft Auto in my opinion, when it didn't take itself so damn seriously. Grand Theft Auto 4 kind of felt like a step back to me, with way smaller scale and ways of exploring the world..and the rehashed NY setting really didn't do it for me. Thats why this might be the first Saints Row I'll actually play. THQ and developer Volition seem to be serious about creating a serious contender for sandbox style games. Read more after the break.

The first two games were pretty rough around the edges, but focused on the aspects of Grand Theft Auto that have since been abandoned in the 4th installment, much to my dismay. This Saints Row is looking way slicker, with much better art direction and whole lot more over the top. I nearly lost it when they showed off that fact that you can assemble an angry furry gang and make society accept you by force. The pre-rendered trailer was among one of the coolest I saw during the show (With the exception of Bioshock: Infinite) due to its kickass, slick presentation. If the screenshots are a proper indication of things to come, consider me excited.
