I have a rule about Video Game Movie Tie-In's; Don't. Just.....Don't. They suck. Aside from a few gems, they are normally created for a quick cash tie-in. Will this year be any different? I doubt it, but it's still worth looking at a few. Perhaps this year will be different. Or maybe I'm a fool. Lets take a quick look after the jump.
Captain America: Super Soldier
Who's Behind it?: Next Level Games
When is it out?: July 19, 2011
What is it about?: A third person single player video game based on the upcoming film Captain America: The First Avenger.
What kind of Gameplay?: Action Adventure in the style of Assassins Creed meets Prince of Persia meets Batman: Arkham Asylum. Quite a mismatch.
Why should I be excited?: Christos Gage, famed comic writter is helming the project. Chris Evans, the actor playing Captain America in the film, will be voicing the character as well. Next Level Games produced some great games including Transformers: Cybertron Adventures and Punch Out!! for the Wii.

What is it about?: Thor battles through the numerous worlds of Norse mythology to save Asgard. Players will wield the iconic Mjölnir, Thor’s legendary hammer, to fight enemies of an immense scale while controlling the elemental storm powers of lightning, thunder and wind to vanquish enemies. Thor must overcome monstrous foes lifted from the pages of the comics, including Ulik, Ymir and Surtur, as well as other daunting enemies.
What kind of Gameplay?: Action. Very God of War Like.
Why should I be excited?: If you enjoy God of War type slash and hack games, I'm sure this will be fun. Hopefully. I'm the least excited for this game.

What kind of Gameplay?: Very little regarding the gameplay is known, though a few game features have been announced:
- Master the Ring: Wield the Green Lantern Power Ring to create a spectacular range of "hard-light" constructs including a gatling gun, giant fists, and much more, all of which can be linked together to form an endless number of combinations.
- Stand Together: Join forces with a friend to play as Hal Jordan or Sinestro to battle the Manhunters, with the ability to drop in or out at will.
- Take Flight: Dodge, blast, and destroy legions of enemies as you soar across the universe in battles of intergalactic scope.
Why should I be excited?: It's a Sequel to the film, based on one of the coolest arcs in the Green Lantern's comic History. Also, Ryan Reynolds will be providing the voice for Hal. The game is being developed by Double Helix Games, the studio behind the amazing Silent Hill: Homecoming, and Griptonite Games are handling the handheld versions; they produced some really cool handheld games including Assassins Creed: Bloodlines for PSP.
