Kanye West Rips Off Enter The Void

Yesterday, Kanye West put out a music video for another single off of his Dark Twisted Fantasy album he released last year. If you're like me, you've got no real interest in Kanye West, but you might be interested to know that for his new video, Kanye did happen to rip off one of the best movies of last year.

Here's the original title sequence from Enter The Void:

Now here's Kanye's new video(The sequence in question starts at 0:58):

Not only is the title sequence ripped verbatim, but most of the other shots in the video closely mimic the style Enter The Void was shot in. For shame Kanye.

  1. Couldn't you argue that Gasper ripped off Justice's DVNO that came out in 2008?

I'm not saying it is right but a lot of mainstream artists seem to get "inspiration" from others.

  2. Inspiration is one thing..I mean, taking someone else's work and making it your own work. However, I do find that completely lifting work or heavy sampling without any alteration is pretty much a ripoff.

People just don't make enough of a fuss out of it anymore. :|

  3. Black Eyed Peas are the worst. They've made a living out of using other peoples work without permission.

  4. And even worse, he included the katakana letter ト for the preposition 'to' when really it is pronounced like 'toe'.

Not the first video where he has used dodgy Japanese. You think by now he'd stop pretending he has any inkling of the language and learn the very basics.
