Sonic, You Run Like An Idiot

Flail (Via)

We just love it when the most random ideas simply take off and gain massive steam, and the 'Dumb Running Sonic' tumblr has been one of these instances. The idea started off with an image by the awesome 'I Draw Nintendo' artist Zac Gorman simply stating "I think it would be cute if Sonic ran like an idiot." This has spawned a current explosion of hilarious gifs with that same theme in mind. Check out 12 more instances of Sonic running like an idiot after the break!

Carson Mauthe Covers Sonic The Hedgehog 3's Ice Cap Zone Pantless

Carson Mauthe is the kind of musician I always wanted to be. For one he can play an instrument. Secondly he makes rock covers of popular video game soundtracks. This time he has covered Ice Cap Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and has shown us how to ski downhill without a shirt or trousers. It's how most artists do it these days.

Like the cover? Download it here. You can also check out more of his material over at his site, Server Crashers, but we don't want you overloading the server. His band, Against Belief, have a full title album coming out early 2012, so you'll certainly want to stay tuned for that!

Sonic CD Is Getting A HD Release

Sonic may have taken a turn for the worse over the last few years, but in his prime Sega's mascot had some amazing games. One of these gems was Sonic CD, possibly one of the best games I had a chance to play back in the day. Listening to the theme still gives me the chills, and makes me want to dig out my copy of the ultra rare CD version and reboot my Windows 95 PC to play. Well, not anymore.

The re-release features "enhanced widescreen graphics", Achievement points and PSN trophies, and will be enhanced especially for iOS devices.

I'll be downloading it for my PS3, 360 and every iOS system I own. I love this game more than you can imagine and if you have never played it, you'll soon understand what made it such a classic. I just hope this isn't my nostalgia speaking.

Fan-Made Sonic's Fur Reminds Me Of My Uncle's Rug

There's something not quite right with seeing Sonic in such a condition. I always imagined him to feel similar to a member of the Blue Man Group but it's possible I could get used to this. Blue Core Studios is putting together a fan-film for Sonic The Hedgehog with a release date of "coming soon", something I look forward to watching before the impending lawsuit threats. Even if the film doesn't see the light of day, at least Blue Core Studios tried. If you're wanting to check out the trailer (which I unfortunately can't post here) check it out on the studio's website.

Sonic Extreme

Found on a development Xbox, Sonic Extreme is a Sonic racing game that was never released on any system. It seems like a spiritual son to plenty of the racing games released as of late with the blue hedgehog, and makes for an interesting watch. Check out some more videos after the jump.
