Missing Tiger - A Film As Sweet As IceSugarHammerCream
David Zimmerman's Missing Tiger fits the fashion film bill quite nicely: Beautiful visuals? Check. Plenty of suggestive imagery throughout? Check. A very abstract high level concept driving the vision of the short? Check and double check. With all that out of the way, enjoy this visually stimulating film about making it in the cutthroat fashion industry.
The plot functions as a parable and the meaning is produced by symbolic conjunctions. There are two young women whose relationship is not conclusively resolved: Are they friends, lovers or enemies? Who killed who? One of the two women takes over the symbolic role of the young designer and the other symbolizes the fashion environment in which she has to survive.

Road, Poison, Angel - High Fashion Films By Ruslan Pelykh
Ruslan Pelykh is a Russian filmmaker and director based out of Moscow, and man does he have a knack for doing some truly amazing high fashion videos. Fantastically art directed, his most recent videos for Road and Poison are sultry in their own way yet immersed in a shroud of total darkness.
Forms mesh, flow and meld into all new amalgams and possiblities with an incredible fluidity enhanced by fantastically paired Massive Attack tracks. Check out the similarly themed Poison and the more light hearted Angel after the break.

Cocoon
Created by Helsinki based art collective Woland, Cocoon is a beautiful, interpretative piece featuring multiple protagonists suspended underwater, slowly flowing to the beat of a minimal electro score. Originally created as a visual art installation for a Casino in Helsinki (The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas has a similar visual installation in their lobby), director Petri R shared his thoughts on the project:
Cocoon is an aesthetic exploration in underwater movement. The short film was originally a part of a commissioned work for the Casino Helsinki for their large scale public screen, but is now released as standalone short film.

The High Fashion Evangelion Tribute - The Beast
There's been a strange trend of Evangelion getting the attention of high fashion designers lately, ranging from the Victoria's Secret plug suit model to this performance art piece by Chinese artist Lu Yang. The artist showcases his transformation into the infamous Beast Mode EVA-02 that shows up in Evangelion 2.0. This process was taken to the next level using traditional techniques like Chinese firecupping, simulating the pain that the biomechanical construct underwent to enter a mode which would push it to it's limits. A fascinating mix of mediums to say the least, accompanied by the score of the New York City symphony.

Mulberry Takes Us To Where The Wild Things Are
English luxury fashion brand Mulberry's new photo shoot definitely took me back to Maurice Sendak's classic series, with the exception of the high fashion model adorned in some seriously expensive clothing.
Mulberry: 'Our Autumn Winter 2012 campaign is a beautiful and evocative series of images shot by renowned British photographer Tim Walker. The story plays on the romance and darkness of children’s fairytales, inspired by Creative Director Emma Hill’s visions of explorers, mysterious stories and fantasy travels. It features Lindsey Wixson in her third campaign for us, travelling deep into the woods and meeting two giant furry forest creatures.'
Check out more images from the shoot after the break!
