The Greek Rocketwar - "Rouketopolemos"
The folks at Epoca Libre decided to share with us a really awesome event that takes place in the Greek village of Vrontados the eve before Easter. Featuring two rival Orthodox churches built on two hilltops facing each other, the celebration involves the congregations of each respective church firing tens of thousands of rockets at each other in order to hit the bell tower on the other side.
The rockets, comprised of wooden sticks packed with an explosive mixture passed down from generation to generation have been around for 120 years now, and the makers spend an entire year crafting and perfecting their rockets. Seeing thousands of rockets get launched simultaneously like that make for one hell of a visual spectacle

Puppy Easter - Awesome-Robo Style!
Small, fluffy baby animals, frolicking around together on a beautiful springy day? Check. Puppies wearing bunny ears? CHECK. This couldn't possibly wait for Tuesday's Cute Mix-Tape! Plus, it wouldn't be relevant at all then, so you get it now. If we had a gaggle of puppies here at Awesome-Robo HQ, this is how we'd definitely be celebrating today. That is, sadly, not the case, so we'll just put this video on loop instead; I suggest you do the same. It's like Animal Planet's Puppy Bowl, except not. Happy Easter!

Alien : The Easter Edition
This awesome parody of the original Alien movie puts a chocolatey, Easter flavored twist on the timeless 'first encounter' facehugger and chest burster scenes. As tempting as it may look, never eat that delicious looking alien chocolate. Now this is an Easter bunny origin story I can get behind.
