On The Mountain

A lone warrior finds a formidable predator stalking him in On The Mountain by Werner Ouyang, a short filled with some clever choices to alleviate the fact that Ouyang didn't manage to completely polish up the short. Emulating a Chinese folk art style, the short features a really cool usage of textured overlays and expressionistic watercolor backgrounds, the at times rough animation style seems to blend in pretty well with the overall world aesthetic he captured. For a second year student, really have to give him props for going with such an ambitious set up with a rather involved pursuit and fight scene.
